When Kyle and Sarah time travel to 2017 and John Connor meets them in the police hospital or whatever, why didnt he just execute them right there? Hes already an evil terminator by that point.

Also, why didnt they go through with the Genisys trilogy? I wanted more of this glorious train wreck.

Studio didn't think it would be profitable.
Furthermore, The GOP is a Fascist Organization and must be destroyed
im fucking serious af

it's a goddamn trainwreck of a "movie"

Youre putting too much thought into this. It was just a series of fanfic scenes cobbled together until it decided the runtime was long enough.
I don't believe in belts. There should be no ranking system for toughness.
That answers why they didnt finish the trilogy.

But surely the writers had a reason why John Conner wouldnt just kill the two people he was determined to kill in the first place who happen to be his parents and killing them would mean he wouldnt be born Surely the writers thought of that.

Right?

Honestly... Salvation was the best movie post T2 in that series
sig
The writers wanted a paycheck, the producers wanted a new Terminator movie, the fans wanted something good. Only two of those got what they wanted out of it.

Terminator is pretty straightforward that different timelines exist, so killing your parents wouldn't make you disappear like in back to the future.

the reason he didn't kill them right away was he was hoping to turn them into machines as well.

that's basically it.

Dark Fate for me, but Genisys is the one I rewatch the most.

Oh, did he say that? Ill take it.

Id love to glimpse the timeline where they finished the Genisys trilogy. I wonder if they wouldve brought back robot John in the sequels.

Then why does Skynet have such a murder boner for John Connor's past self, when killing him back then clearly wouldn't change anything?

spite, anger, etc., mostly (flipping the chessboard over)

it's also possible that JC is intended to be some kind of nexus: something like "70% of worlds where we kill JC, Skynet is totally badass"

it's not totally clear

it's possible it doesn't care if it has to burn some timelines, and the logical "i wont know about it" doesnt matter to the AI--it's fine knowing it's winning in other timelines

it's also possible that it thinks it can somehow become a God if it has enough time, and then it wont matter, or it could rescue it's alternate selves.

as far as the movies go, it seems like there aren't infinite timelines, just like 4-10 or w/e, and in every single one skynet is defeated eventually, before becoming a god.

IIRC, he tells them to join him to become a family, and only after they refuse, does he try to kill them.

Don't worry. It went from an amazing franchise to one that makes you actively lose brain cells when you watch it.

Still better than Dark Fate, that movie more or less shit on T2.

T2 is honestly a good ending to the franchise.

Salvation isn't too bad either.

This movie is ok, dark fate was great. Arnold was asked why both movies did bad iirc . He prob wanted to say how pathetic most moviegoers are, but he did not
