Here's my current setup:

401k contributing 10% of my pre-tax earnings (about a 4.5% company match)
$300/bi-weekly auto-investing into VTSAX in my brokerage account
High-yield Savings account with 4.35% with most of my savings

I'm thinking I'll put $6500 into a Roth IRA from my savings for 2023 and then max it for 2024 also. But not sure what I should invest in. I was thinking I'd set up a 3 fund portfolio for my Roth and go with either Fidelity or Schwab (SWTSX, SWISX, SWAGX or FSKAX, FTIHX, FXNAX).

But I also want to start investing into SCHD for the dividends, so not sure if I should do that in my Brokerage or fit that in somewhere else.

I had a fun year last year with VSTM, though.

Future is ARM. I think Intel is possibly undervalued but ARM is a better long term investment.

The future is RISC-V. The ARM IPO was the exit strat to squeeze out money before the downfall.

RISC-V is an assembly implementation standard. The R in ARM is literally "RISC"

RISC-V is an instruction set, but the surrounding ecosystem in general is far more open than ARM and cheaper to implement since there are also free and open implementations. It's finding its way into more and more embedded applications and from there it's working its way up. There's still a ways to go, but it offers many advantages over ARM cost-wise, especially since ARM has been putting the screws to licensees lately to squeeze more profits. There are also benefits in extensibility.

ARM is a hardware company and their hardware supports RISC-V. All they have to do is actually implement it.

I don't see them stopping their current implementations but they could easily make both at the same time.

You don't seem to understand what RISC-V is. It's a competitor. ARM isn't going to come out with RISC-V designs.

RISC-V and ARM do not have compatible instructions sets. AMD's 64-bit extensions to x86 are just that, extensions to x86, which both Intel and AMD are using.

Intel's original x64 wasn't compatible with either AMDx64 or the old IBMx86. They dropped it in favor of the better standard.

ARM chips already have the architecture needed to support a RISC-V implementation, all they have to do is just implement it.

Did you miss the part where the AMD 64-bit *extensions* are *extensions* to x86? It's compatible and can be incorporated into x86 because it was explicitly designed that way (obviously, because it's an *extension* of x86). Also, what the fuck is IBMx86? You're just pulling things out of your ass.

Speaking of pulling things out of your ass, what do you mean by "the architecture" needed to support a RISC-V implementation? I'd love to hear your explanation on this so I can laugh some more.

The other chip IBM made back in the day alongside PPC which is what apple used. (I think IBM may have made even more but those are the only two anyone cares about. I think the last thing that used PPC seriously was the Nintendo Wii).

I'm talking about the number and type of registers. ARM designed microprocessors match the specifications set by RISC-V. The only difference is the actual instruction set.

A difference which is key and makes it incompatible.
