I was excited to try making Japanese curry and I saw this at Walmart but there's a warning label for possible lead??
The lead only takes effect if you eat the curry inside California
Japan has the worst curry, even without lead ( -_-)
There is no good. There is no evil. There just is.
Move to Chicago and enjoy the same foods without a warning.

You really need to add spices and veggies and or meat to make it taste like anything else.

Funny enough, there is a ton of Indian and other a
Asian curry here and it is amazing.

You add it in. That's just the curry mix. It doesn't have carrots or potatoes either. I've had that curry before. You are supposed put in the other stuff yourself
When they said they were leading California in curry, someone should've questioned the pronunciation.

California has gone nuts wit da warnings. Dere is a no trespassing sign along da trail dat runs past my house. It has a warning dat it might contain potential carcinogens. A freaking plastic sign.

Lead is deliberately added to some things because it is cheaper than the actual spice or whatever.

On the one hand, there is a concern because lead is sometimes an adulterant added to enhance the color of spices, including turmeric and chili which are likely to be part of a curry blend.

https://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2020/dec/24/dangerous-spices-why-indias-cooking-powders-pose-a-risk-of-lead-poisoning

Lead chromate was added to the turmeric to brighten its golden colour and lead oxide gave the chilli powders a rich red hue.

On the other hand, California's chemical warnings on food packages are wildly paranoid, and companies may label their foods as "may contain" just to cover their ass even when the chance of contamination is infinitesimal.

WTF? "House" brand curry is fucking amazing. And I love Indian curry too, they're just different tastes.

Doesn't California have the most ridiculous laws regarding food labels. Like if there's a trace amount of anything they deem as harmful, even if there's no evidence of it being harmful in that trace amount, it has to be labelled with a warning? I feel like the dumbest food labels come out of California.
Not just on foods, but even handling physical tools and objects. It's fucking ridiculous, usually I see companies straight up list it as the "Proposition X" (I forgot the number, might be 65?) warning, to just lampshade that, "yeah, we're legally required by CA to say this, like everything, has a minuscule chance of giving you cancer."
CA is the WebMD of states.

Don't be discouraged, try it. Like I said, I prefer "House" curry, which has a slightly sweet cinnamon like aroma. I make it with chicken, potato, carrot, pineapple (chunks from a can works fine), and diced apples. Assuming that mix works the same, you spend ~ 20 minutes cooking the chicken/potato/carrot in water, then add the seasoning mix and pineapple and cook for another ~ 20 min stirring occasionally and adding the apples in the last few minutes. (both so the apples retain a little "crispness" and b/c...oddly when they're in there too long, they just absorb the flavor of the potatoes and taste like them....).
I usually dont even add anything other than the water to dissolve the blocks. Usually eat it with chicken or pork katsu.

Forgot about this topic. Thanks good to know It seems proposition 65 is just paranoia. Though post 14 is concerning.
Yeah, famously almost every product in Cali has the Prop 65 warning but it's fine.

Problem is that California has so many customers, companies have to obey whatever bullshit regulations they issue to the rest of the country. It's too liberal of a state but has so much influence
