Objectively it's not the best, but Duke Nukem was way too much fun when I was young.

I generally dislike FPS and never play them with a few exceptions. The only game on this list I have played was Goldeneye but admittedly had a lot of fun when I was in the military playing this with buddies. We would play 4 player split screen on the ship and it was pretty fun.

GoldenEye. Not really a fan of it, as I don't like shooters, but my friends liked it and I had some fun times with friends.

Doom.

Duke 3D as a kid, Half-Life as an adult.

Where is Perfect Dark on that list? It did everything Goldeneye did but way better.

From that era, definitely GoldenEye. 4-man multiplayer, license to kill mode in the facility stage. Loved it.

I havent played too many FPS games but my heyday was around 1999 to 2005-ish so a bit biased.

Quake 3 Arena > Counterstrike > Unreal Tournament 2004 > Wolfenstein 3D

Goldeneye hands down, even though the original on the N64 hardware is probably the weakest one of this list now.
