Not exactly the same but similar to it.

I'm fine with it becoming an action RPG although I'm sure a lot of people will be against it.
Don't like it? Don't watch it. It's that simple

Twials of Mana
Wild ARMs is still the best JRPG series in my opinion and we desperately need a new game in the series!

It's always been weird to me how few ports Chrono Trigger got over the years but you can get Final Fantasy 1 on everything.

I think it'd be great. Adding movement as part of your turn would make a lot of the techs (and dual techs) really shine, like the Chrono+Robo whirl attack.

Maybe even remaster the soundtrack too! (Blasphemy, I know, but there are a ton of bangers I'd like to see redone for the potential of being even better)
Remember that I won't rest, 'til we share the same tense
Just know, to me, you're better late than never again.
Trials of Mana was so damn good, never played the original but I absolutely loved the remake.
Are we the baddies?

Strong Agree. None of this 2.5HD shit.

Only if they swear to not fuck up on the voice acting. I'd MUCH rather none at all than repeat Trials of Mana or the Wii version of Chocobo's Dungeon.
Philosophy major in the academy of Nope.
One of the few games that doesnt need a remake.

I'd try a CT Remake done like ToM.

I'd prefer it done like OT though.

That already happened with the original release considering who did the character design.

That's really all I want for a FF6 remake, but Square is stupid and they want to make it AAA for some reason
"You're made of spare parts, aren't ya, bud?"
I kinda let Trials of Mana slip under my radar... I like the art style, how is the game?

Is it super linear story based and characters follow a strict level up with static party composition, or do you have some agency and freedom to form your party and pick skills and stats that matter?

I only want to hear Rick Moranis voice Robo. I don't know why but I have always associated Rick Moranis with Robo. Rick Astley can be the voice of the robots that beat him up but Rick Moranis has to be Robo. We need the right Rick for the job.

Fuck no you don't. They're going to absolutely butcher a remake for FF6 with changing the story.

When you first start you choose who you start with and two companions. You'll see the other 3 characters as you progress but they won't join you.

The game basically has 3 different routes depending on 2 of your party members.

Hawkeye and Riesz
Duran and Angela
Kevin and Charlotte

Every character has a starting job class role, like Hawkeye is a Thief. But as you progress you can upgrade their class down various paths which teach different skills.

It's fairly linear and about 20-30 hours.

smh, this is why i'll never be on board with the official translation. wtf is "Riesz"? that's not a name. Lise is an actual name. Lise doesn't look like just a handful of random letters smashed together.
I'm not entirely sure where the official romanization originated, but it's been around as long as the original SFC game existed and it's been used before Trials of Mana remake was put out.
I will rule the world, and find that truly good cup of coffee.
There's two trials of mana
I just might 6-0 you in Pokemon. Watch out for my awesome teams.
Literally the only thing they need to do to a Chrono Trigger remake is give it the Octopath/Live A Live art style. The game would be absolutely fucking beautiful done up like that.

It might not be the same game anymore but it would be amazing to see moments in full modern remake splendor.

Imagine jumping into the gate and stepping out into 2300 AD for the first time. Or seeing the kingdom of Zeal spread out before you.

The opera scene in Pixel FF6 convinced me that what I want is Chrono Trigger in the style of Octopath Traveler.

Her original name is pronounced as Rees.
Lise could be mispronounced as Lee-say or Lies. Ries is closer to it, and they add z so it's not mispronounced as Rice.

trials of mana is one of the few remakes i think is actually worth buying because it's actually a different experience than the original. i rarely buy remakes of games i've played because devs usually make the experience faithful to a fault

uhhh.... sure it can, chief

and i could mispronounce Ricemills as Reesaymyles

Sure you can. That's the point

gross. No. 2.5HD remaster or no buy. I want to be able to play chrono triggers remake, not pass because it doesnt look faithful.

Akirya Toriyamas original designs should not be bastardized with the trials treatment.
Dinosaurs built the pyramids.
trials of mana has an extremely faithful remake even in the jump to 3d. it has the same progression and same exact plot. my main criticisms come from the baggage carried over from the original, like the flimsy writing, jank progression, and reuse of areas in the second half
remake with Octopath Traveler's art style and leave everything else the same or don't touch it at all.
I hope something good happens to you today

Why would you go for inferior artstyle
