Definitely Red. Magmar and Meowth might be the only Blue mon I prefer

I always liked blue but I've always suspected this was largely because I played it first. Sandshrew, Bellsprout and Vulpix were favorites of mine, while dudes like Oddish and Mankey were just... weird.

For my tastes, Red, easily:

Arcanine > Ninetales (Arcanine is one of my all-time favorites)
Vileplume > Victreebell
Scyther > Pinsir
Electabuzz > Magmar

There's more to it, but those are the major prices changes and are sorta based on the pokemon's level (ie: Dratini is cheaper in Red, but also lower level). Here's the full list if you're curious

Lv. 9 Abra - 180 C (Red only)

Lv. 17 Nidorina - 1200 C (Red only)
Lv. 18 Dratini - 2800 C (Red only)

Blue has meowth, vulpix, and sandshrew... on the other hand red has ekans and growlithe. Plus the game corner difference.

Oddish is worse in everyway in Gen 1 lol. Worse stats, worse movepool (Bellsprout gets Wrap and Razor Leaf while Oddish doesnt). I think literally the only thing it has better is like 5 more defense lol

Persian looks dumb, though. It's just a cat.

The games are too easy to care about move pools. When I was 10 I just wanted to use Pokmon that looked cool, so Scyther solos.

Blue for me. I like most of the Blue counterparts more (Mankey over Meowth and Scyther over Pinsir are the exceptions) plus that cheaper Porygon is always nice.
