I thought about buying a bigger mailbox since mine has recently become so crappy recently that if you so much as touch it, the door falls open. So half the time when I get home, the mailbox is just wide open. The screws are all rusted too so I'm not sure I can fix it. But also another reason is because of the "Shoving packages into the tiny mailbox thing" too. They do that shit to me all the time.
Another complaint I have with them is at least once maybe twice a week, I get my neighbor's mail inside my fucking mailbox. They do it sooooo fucking often. I have to wonder how often MY mail gets into other people's mailboxes. Hell, just last week, I found a letter on the ground directly in front of my garage that was for a house 5 houses down the street. I was like HOW?! For one, wtf was it doing in front of my garage which is several steps past the mailbox? And it's not like it was for the house next to me. It was several fucking houses down.
The thing Trump and the Postmaster General want to get shut down, because mail-in voting. And like, I get that the postal service is important and needs to exist. But at least do the bare minimum at work. Clearly a lot of postal workers around here don't give a shit.
They know theyre gonna die very soon so theyre in fuck it mode. No, the postal service is in the Constitution.
USPS has been progressively getting worse and worse over the last few years. I noticed we don't have the same driver on my route on day-to-day basis (we used to) and they forgot to deliver packages etc. My fianc went and dropped off, in person our wedding invitations to a post office and they still managed to lose about 10-15 of them in the mail. Just the other day, I had to walk out and talk to the postal worker because they forgot to deliver a package to my address, they had literally sitting next to them in the truck. I will pay $5-$10 extra now when I order stuff for it to come via UPS to stay away from USPS. I also use informed delivery and was told, its not always accurate by at least 2-3 different postal workers.I wouldn't be surprised if this decline in competency is directly linked to the Republican attempts to kill the Post Office, but it's ridiculous.
