Trump's inept and conspiratorial response to the COVID pandemic directly led to the needless suffering and deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans. if we were to actually, in a completely unbiased and objective manner, "judge Trump by what he did in his first term", that alone would condemn him as one of the worst presidents in history.
Imagine how history would have judged Churchill if instead of "we shall fight on the beaches..." he convinced half the country's population there was no threat of German attack on British soil.
