All I want is more tb space on the sku models. If I'm too lazy to build a gaming pc I'm definitely too lazy to buy a 3rd party ssd and open up my ps5 and put it in the slot and then screw the whole thing back upInstalling an extra drive in a PS5, if it's anything like it was on PS3 and PS4, is infinitely simpler than building a gaming PC. Installing the drive is like, a 5 minute job at most.
I'm still on ps4. Might get this if it doesn't look as bad as the ps5.This
Only reason I care about the Pro is that it means the base model might see a price dropAnd maybe this
If the leaks are accurate, it's 90% of the way to being a PS6. I'm not sure why they can't leverage that.Leverage what, to do/get what?

If I was a developer, the only thing I would worry about would the PS5 Pro being so powerful that the ps6 ends up being an Xbox Series S compared to a One X.The only thing they really need to do is put in a chip that identifies it as a PS6 so games can refuse to play if it's anything else.
Which highlights the absurdity of the pro. Cutting edge gpu but still only Zen 2 cores. The expected jump to Zen 4 or better for the PS6 would be that check.
Games coming out now still feel like they're a half step above last gen to me.I'd agree... if there were any! (Games)
And I'm here still on the PS4. What the heck was the PS5 good for?

This just really seems targeted at the people who want to play everything 4k 60fps....who also have the money to spend. Thing is that youd think those people already have a PC.Its not for people who have a PS5 already. Its for those of us who dont because we were waiting for a Pro model.
I dont have a PS5, so Ill be buying one. Going Pro to Pro seems to be the most sensible thing.
It doesnt seem like there are really enough games worth getting the system for at all until the Pro model is out, especially if you game on PC.
Im only getting a PS5 at all because Vanillaware hates PC and I hate the Switch, so I got the PS5 collectors edition of Unicorn Overlord.
why do you hate the switch? it's legit the best console in 20+ yearsWhy wouldnt I? Im a PC gamer and its basically the antithesis of the experience I prefer.
So then why not emulate Switch Unicorn on PC? PS5 exclusives will eventually go to PC anyway and even if they don't they're not that special. Although if they don't, wouldn't that fall under your "arbitrarily held hostage?" Personally I think a built in system for achievements/trophies are gratuitous and just encourage trophy whoring. Any well designed proper challenges should be built into the game itself, which a lot of Nintendo games are doing. A lot of prominent indie devs hate them too. As I believe you're aware yourself, PS's arbitrary and inconsistent restrictions out of perceived moral guardian reasons are a lot more anti-consumer while Nintendo has outright confirmed they won't restrict 3rd parties outside of the local age ratings. You claim the only thing to like about the Switch is Nintendo's 1st party games which have nothing to do with the Switch because they're just being held hostage but the reason you're getting a PS5 is because of a (third party) PS5 game not on PC.For two reasons:
There is actually nothing to like about the PS5 other than its exclusives (which will eventually go to PC anyway). Unlike the Switch's gimmicks that PC doesn't have, things like power, FPS, and trophy system are all things on PC (and Xbox). Not all of them have, and not all of them likely will. And unlike the Switch, I cant just easily emulate PS5 games because the PS5 didnt have basically a weak mobile phone CPU when it came out like the Switch was.
Likewise I hate everything Sony does as a business (like ditching their systems like Vita which they continued to push new firmwares for just to screw up homebrew even after they've stopped supporting the system and their hypocrisy towards buying timed exclusives while complaining about Xbox doing so and refusing crossplay with the other platforms because they were up their own ass) when their modern first party games are all of the same cinematic mold and they threw away their old varied exclusives because they want to chase "global trends" like aforementioned cinematic focus and live service so I dont think they should be given one red cent that you don't have to.It has gimmicks I didnt ask for, dont like, and dont want to have to deal with just to play Nintendo games. Same as the Wii and Wii U and the DS and 3DS.
Most trophies are just basic "beat level 1" stuff and things that go beyond that often go into tedious grindy BS that just wastes time. In any case, if you like a game so much you'd be willing to play them at launch I feel you could replay it when it comes out on PC and do a full complete of the game on a fresh file. I know I've done that for a few games I really like.
Bloodborne is the only exception and it's basically just a meme. Every other franchise has gotten a PC release and some are getting one within 2-3 years. Third parties generally get them even sooner. But I mean still, exclusives are arbitrary hostages according to you. Nintendo never legally has their games playable on PC. And the Switch 2 isn't likely to have an emulator that can emulate it any time soon.
I actually don't play any of those games but I think refusing third parties are much more anti-consumer than just changing your own inhouse (even then any physical changes hasn't happened since 2017). Although Sony's first parties are now all American so its first party censorship are only in stricter countries which you probably aren't affected by.
My point is that the Switch at least has gimmicks and its exclusive library is much larger than PS5's. Meanwhile the PS5 has nothing over the other graphics focused platforms other than its own exclusives which are much smaller and are also likely to become multi-platform as per their own words.
