I legitimately liked those movies quite a bit back then. Johnny 5 was quite popular for a bit. It also helped I really really liked Ally Sheedy in 1986 in the first movie.

Funnily enough, I was watching a bunch of Short Circuit 2 clips on youtube just last week. Doesn't seem to be a good video of Johnny 5 trying to save himself after getting beaten and left for dead.
