How much is a haircut where you live?

Current Events

The best barber I've ever used was in an old house in the historic district of a smallish town.

Haircuts are awkward for me, because of the part where they ask you what you wanna do. I dunno... shorter?

So when I wandered into this place, and the guy asks me, and I go "uh..."

and the guy says "Just a regular men's haircut?"

BAM. I was a fan of this dude for LIFE.

I apologized to him, because I always feel like I have to for not knowing hair lingo, by saying "if there's a book of hairstyles, I never read it."

"I didn't either," he answered.

I gotta admit, that made me a little nervous, but my hair was absolutely PERFECT. Best haircut I've gotten in my life.

He charged me twelve, which, what the hell. I mean, it was a long time ago and all, but not THAT long ago, so I told him to make it fifteen (hey, it's a 25% tip) and left.

How I wish I could go back and tip the guy a hundred, because next time I needed a haircut, he had vanished without a trace and the new lady was just like all the other barbers who expect you to know shit and answer questions and still don't do a great job.

Sometimes I wonder if I pulled a John Nash on myself and there never was a barbershop there before the normie chick. Maybe I cut my own hair in a schizophrenic daze.
There's a difference between canon and not-stupid.
