I got that one. It's pretty rad. Getting Legos is pretty rare for me, but when I saw it I had to get it. I'm pretty sure I had some sort of pirate ship when I was a kid.
I saw a Pirates of the Caribbean pirate ship set on sale around a decade ago and didn't buy it. Nowadays even an used copy sell for close to a thousand. The pirate ship motiff is common for Lego. I remember them even when I was a kid. Sure the usual sets won't have the great Jack Sparrow, but they are like 98 percent the same anyways

Realized I put 3 pieces on in the wrong direction last night and spent 30 mins fixing that
hardly any progress tonight :(
If you like the old Castle theme, then get at least one 3 in 1 Medieval Castle set. Ive seen MOCs made from as many as four of them on r/legocastles. That set and the Pirate Ship are being discontinued later this year.
This has actually happened a few times when constructing actual warships.
My current progress since pic wouldnt upload yesterdayFor whatever reason gamefaqs cant handle portrait images. I always have to crop them to a square so they dont turn sideways

also a DnD set with a dragon
lion knight castleIt blows my mind that they can charge $400 for that. Mind you it looks good, but it is pretty small. I wouldn't have guessed it was much more than $200. Good thing I am not playing Price is Right
Does it float?
its not watertight so I doubt it
also Ive got the worst Lego helper ever https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/7/7d778d48.jpg
I have that one! I love it.
I also have the Vikings ship , which isn't as big or good, but still great and they look great next to each other.
Also the viking village, and the 3 in 1 castle, and the medieval blacksmith shop, and El Dorado fortress, and the medieval town square. That last one I just got recently and I'm really slow about building it.
I love how they all go together theme wise.
That one was like $80 right?

Mine is always very interested whenever I'm building. I've shooed her from swatting the small pieces that she just stares most of the time.

Are you building the Tranquil Garden set there?Yep! I finished it awhile back.
Yep! I finished it awhile back.
It's only the second "big" set I've built after the Piranha Plant.

Is that like the 90s sets? I don't think I had any of those. The way the castle is designed sort of makes me think of the Black Falcons Fortress from the mid-80s, albeit using modern building techniques.
My biggest set is currently the D&D set...I'd love to have the D&D set but I'm physically and mentally incapable of justifying spending $360 on it
