Why didn't you guys give it a chance when it was big last year?
Who is "you guys" in this statement? Lots of people here played the game. When it came out last year I was ushered away from it by a lot of the posters here.

Really? Who? Seems strange and unlikely given that most people here seemed to enjoy the game.I hardly even keep track of people I reply to from topic to topic. I can't remember what users were leading me astray, but part of the reason I made this topic was for them to explain themselves. Hopefully they come forth.

Oh wait found TC's topic on BG3 elsewhere. My topic on the BG3 board is not the topic that I made last year on CE asking if I should buy the game.
Topic title was "If I don't gravitate towards D&D type stuff, will I like BG3?"
Yeah no one lead you astray, they just answered your question. And half the topic is people extolling the virtues of the game anyway. Way to be dishonest about it though!
I don't like fantasy OR western RPGs outside of Shadowrun, but this game is awesome! Why didn't you guys give it a chance when it was big last year?

I DID tell them I don't normally play western RPGs, and that I enjoy survival horror genre a lot, and people basically dismissed me that it probably wouldn't be for me.
So basically you guys gate kept me from playing it, and now that I figured out it is actually a good game, gaslighting. We've got gaslighting and gatekeeping, now when does the girlbossing start?
I'm not talking about your topic on the BG3 board, homie, I'm talking about your CE topic that you made last year, which went exactly as I stated. Some people said yeah, maybe not for you, some people said you should give it a shot.Well, I don't have the topic up right now. Maybe I'm not remembering it perfectly, but there were people telling me not to even play it.

Is this TCs gimmick or something? No his gimmick was being a covid denier

Well when you tell people that you don't play western rpgs and D&D like games, its easy to imagine why people would tell you to not buy a western rpg based on D&D lolPeople can try something new. Why would they usher me away from it instead of trying to tell me to give this one a chance?

Multiple people in that topic quite literally did just that.Again, I don't have a picture perfect memory of the topic.
You also made a poll asking if you should get it and the responses were overwhelmingly yes.
Why you lying?
Again, I don't have a picture perfect memory of the topic.
I specifically do remember people telling me "This game probably isn't for you. Don't waste your time with it."
That seems like an aggressive statement to make. Like I'm not welcome in the BG3 community.
I guess there were people saying to try it out too? Idk, you tell me. You are the one that has all of this in front of you. Idk how you even looked it up, but from what I remember people were being very rude and hostile to me for not being into western RPGs and fantasy. The positive response may not have left as much of an impression on my memory because they weren't as "loud".

I specifically do remember people telling me "This game probably isn't for you. Don't waste your time with it."Not really. It's a fairly reasonable take based on what you've said: you dislike every genre that the game can fall under prior to this point and don't play them as a point. Yes BG3 has an argument for being the best CRPG, but just being the best doesn't really mean everyone is required to like it. Especially when their previous game, Divinity 2, is similar in many aspects and has been out for long enough that it could be presumed that you turned that one down already.

The positive response may not have left as much of an impression on my memory because they weren't as "loud".That is more a human nature thing. A study found that humans remember negatives vastly more than positives and you would need to have the positives vastly outnumber the negatives (generally around 4+:1) for the positives to stick more than the negatives. It's why, for instance, people get vastly more heated about nerfs in a game than they get positive about buffs: the nerf is a negative and is thus massively more emotionally resonant.
No one was rude or hostile to you, you're just making shit up lmao.Buy isn't it also a fact that I mentioned I liked the Shadowrun games in that topic? And yet people still told me not to play it? How do you explain that?
Buy isn't it also a fact that I mentioned I liked the Shadowrun games in that topic? And yet people still told me not to play it? How do you explain that?tbf, that would be like saying you like Blade Runner, and wanted to know if you should watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

That's still not being hostile, my guy.
They're in another topic right now talking about how people are just bullies here. I think it's a gimmick, (or a very severe victim complex).Or I'm just describing my experience using CE, which is accurate considering you're stalking my posts and laughing at me with someone else.

Well whatever to the people gaslighting me. Bottom line, I love Baldur's Gate 3 and the people that told me not to buy it were WRONG and owe me an apology.
