Yes they're accepted in most places.

Except there's no barcode or anything. You can just hold your phone to the machine and it takes it

Tap to pay was relatively new here. I know in Korea and other Asian countries they have that QR system.

Yes, they're in America now. But most employees and a bunch of customers don't know how to use them and get a bench of errors. Then they either pay a different way or give up and leave.
I've seen a lot more fail than actually work.
