would recommend ppl play the kiryu games first, ESPECIALLY if ur gonna do infinite wealth
Is 0 any good? It's on sale.

It's the best Yakuza game.
0 is my personal recommendation for starting. It's a great sampling of the action, tone, melodrama, humor, and side content that the series is famous for. It requires no previous knowledge to engage in, as it's a prequel to the main storyline, so it exists quite self-contained.
For years I wanted a jrpg set in a modern city that felt like a real place , and LaD checked all the boxes right down to being able to go to restaurants and bars. I also liked how creative the enemies were, and how they were contextualized. After I played this game I spent the next several months playing every mainline Yakuza game and both Judgments. What a great series
Technically speaking, I think Infinite Wealth is the better game, but 0 has a better story. I liked IW more for the characters interactions than the grand schemeFair enough. That's the only Yakuza game I haven't played yet so I suppose it can potentially be better.
I've finished both Like a Dragon and Infinite Wealth, and unfortunately, I didn't enjoy either one.
IW is probably the last Yakuza that I'll play...outside of the ones I already own and haven't played yet (Kiwami, Kiwami 2 - I did play the originals - Y6, Judgment, & Lost Judgment).
you could also be playing for hours and then be thrown into yet another tutorial, and you'd have to stick with that for a while (sujimon, Dondoko Island, etc.).god i haaaaate this and so many yakuzas are guilty of it

I mean. That was optionalno, completing them is optional. the pace killer tutorials are not

and i love all the side gigs in older games for the most part. but i hate sujimon and dodongo
How are the judgements games?Judgment games are good! They're a nice break from yakuza drama and more detective stories. It's a weird vibe being a normal law-abiding person.

Gameplay wise? Are they much different?they play like tighter dragon engine kiryu games
How are the judgements games? I am playing Kiwami and I consider maybe playing them as a break from Kiryu's adventures when I get in the middleThey're both top tier Yakuza games, and the amount of side content in Lost Judgment is crazy even for this series
I think Lost Judgment might be the only one in the franchise to have a full blown expansion with the Kaito Files, but I could be wrong. You're correct on that one. Kaito Files is the only multi-chapter DLC story content they've ever released and it's some of the best short-form writing they've ever done.
I think the combat in the Judgement games is my favorite in the series. That's basically a function of it being some of their latest in action combat, particularly when it comes to the Dragon Engine. Yakuza 6 and Kiwami 2 were rough on action combat, and then it seems they kinda "got it" when they moved on to Judgment, then Lost Judgment, then Like a Dragon Gaiden which is also fun and awesome.
