Don't even start that shit, this being ghoulish doesn't mean ensuring Trump's defeat in November isn't paramount.

It's sad and scary to see this crackdown on free speech. Just reading about it brings back memories of the dark times in the Americas' past, when people were punished for not falling in line. It's a sad cycle that keeps repeating itself.

Over the years, whenever there's a push to silence dissent, it's often justified as necessary for safety or to prevent things from getting out of hand. But history tells us that these crackdowns have happened before, during the Red Scare, the Vietnam War, and World War I. And it's always the same story people are told to conform or face the consequences.

We find ourselves in a horrible situation where speaking out too boldly carries the looming threat of a tyrant lurking in the shadows. It's a chilling reality that forces us to tread carefully in how we express dissent and even discuss the current state of affairs.

So, lets keep fighting the good fight, but lets do it in a way thats going to keep us safe and make a real difference. Its not just about standing up to the bad guys; its about making sure were still standing when its all said and done.

Really israel should be criticized endlessly for no reason other than people trying to censor it.

Nobody in politics actually believes in free speech. When the speech comes from the left the right wants to censor and when it comes from the the right the left wants to censor. Round and round it goes. Power protects power but free speech protects the powerless.

They only care about the nation state. Not the people who live there. They usually are Christian Evangelicals, and they believe in a prophecy that for Jesus to return, Israel must be incredibly powerful first. It has to thrive as a nation and conquer all its enemies, to check off one of the parts of the end time prophecy. They don't care about Jewish people though. In fact, in the same prophecy, eventually a large number of Jewish people die horribly, and Christians take over Israel

Maybe. I think in the Old Testament, God would punish Israel each time they went against his wishes. I think that sometimes meant God letting a foreign nation come in and wreck shit

I'm pretty sure at this point the Democrats want to lose.

Remember when Texas banned contracts with companies that boycotted energy companies, pro-fun organizations, and Israel? They couldn't outright punish companies that did so because of the first amendment, so they instead positioned state agencies to punish the companies in their stead. This is going to be in the same vein. They can't outright punish the students, but they can leverage their position to make the universities do it for them.

Also, I want to underscore the following quote from the OP.

"Jewish students have told my office that they feel completely abandoned by their university administrators and they view Congress as the only avenue for accountability and safety."

How many times LGBT students made that same claim in good faith only to be ignored? Lots.

How many times have fascists like DeSantis made a similar claim in bad faith about conservative students in college? Lots.

If this is the bar, then it should the bar for everybody. And if this is the bar for everybody, then free speech in America is dead.

This is one of those things that sounds good in concept and prone to horrible misuse in actuality.

And what about Jewish students protesting Israel? Is that not a thing they consider?
