I'm 37 years old and I've been coming to GameFAQs for over half my life. This isn't just a website to me, it's basically another home.

So yeah, I'm sticking with this sinking ship to the bitter end, and Fandom can go fuck itself for what it's doing to a place I care about.

I've frequently joked about how if this place got shut down my reaction would be "I'm free". But now that these boards are dying a quick painful death I can't help but feel kind of bummed out.

LMAO a very long time ago I too thought I needed to belong to this place but I come to realize this place is very anonymous and I don't think I'll miss this place as much as I thought I would. If I can make it here, I can make it anywhere in any similar community.

So far I have no reason to care.

They closed a bunch of bad boards, which I guess could upset me on principle of I actually cared about principle on the timewaster website.

They explicitly banned politics on boards where it was implicitly banned by the off topic rule anyway.

They sequestered this board, which just means I finally have a permanent way out for the next time I realize it's consuming my life.

If anything, it's an improvement.
There's a difference between canon and not-stupid.
