The exception is very specifically games like South Park Stick of Truth which pick that FPS on purpose to achieve a particular art style.Ah yeah I do agree with this though.
People who say they cant tell a diff have to be trolling right? There's a difference when you compare them 1:1 after the other, but once you get used to 30, it doesn't really make the game feel much different. 60 looks smoother, but 30 is perfectly fine.
Boot up any game, set settings to 60+ fps and play for an hour or two, set it down to 30fps and try playing again. You dont see a difference? No fucking shot

60 is better but 30 is fine.agree. Console user here. For most genres I don't care. But for things like racing, FPS, and fighting games, I'd prefer a stable 60.
I think I'm a rarity, being able to tell the difference but not considering it the only thing in the universe that matters.

Im not sure I ever really notice. If you gave me two versions of the same game at 30 and 60, it would probably be noticeable, but its not something I really think about going fresh into a game if the frame rate is stable.
No, it feels terrible. The difference is like night and day.Yeah, I really noticed in Rebirth when I opened the menu and the camera pan across the characters felt fast af
If you really can't tell the difference just rotate the camera in 30fps mode vs 60fps. It's night and day.
I prefer 60fps but it's wild to me how people disbelieve that other people can't really tell the difference.fair enough. Indeed.
Some people can't. End of.

Humans can't actually see 60fps. The people that argue in favour of it are clowns.I remember when this was the standard argument for old gen consoles
Is that a 60fps gif?no it was just a reaction. distorted HMMM face : )
I remember when this was the standard argument for old gen consolesMakes it even funnier when most Nes and Snes games were 60 fps.
People whose main problem with a game is the FPS just seem goofy to me. I see them as those monocle wearing stereotypes of rich snobs but in regards to video games.FPS affects the quality of a game. If the first feeling you get when you see the animation in a game is Jesus Christ this looks jank obviously its going to taint whatever enjoyment the game otherwise might have had, in the same way bad controls would. Its a constant feel of this is terrible that doesnt go away.
Obviously inconsistent frame rate and frame drops is a HUGE issue but that isnt what we are talking about here.

I understand what youre trying to say about inconsistent FPS, but no, Id rather an inconsistent 40+ fps than a consistent 30fps

It baffles me how so many people think frame rate is a matter of sight. Its a matter of feel. Low frame rates feel choppy, like you move and theres lag between when you press buttons or move the mouse and it actually happens. It's also a matter of sight (movement is smoother). Some games just control like shit in the mud regardless, like Soulsborne games.
