She said she doesn't play those "baby" games anymore. She only ever plays Bioware and Dragon Age.

I remember she used to like Pixar so I got her a Finding Nemo/Monster's Inc GBA double pack. Maybe it is a little kiddy...

How old is your sister?

Because if she isn't like under 10, no shit she doesn't want some ancient shovelware.

Look I got it because she likes the movies and she owns a DS Lite so she could play it. I saw it on the shelf in the used game store and I thought "Hey [Redacted] would maybe like this she likes these movies!"

I mean it is a shitty gift for sure but sibling gifts follow different rules and are usually "inside joke" gifts anyway so I think it fine in this case

  1. How old is your sister?
  2. Maybe you should have asked what kind of games she's into nowadays.

Finding Nemo/Monster's Inc? That's from the early 2000s. 20+ years old shovelware

When either of my sisters have kids as soon as they're old enough to read they're getting a Game Boy Color and Pokemon Yellow and Link's Awakening DX, just like I got as a kid.

Is this their decision, or are you imposing this onto them?

This is no different than when you buy your parents Pokemon crap for xmas.

Every time you make a topic about buying bday/Xmas gifts for your family, it's always something that you very obviously bought with yourself in mind.
Save for your doomed future
Are these actually games or is it when they tried to release full length movies on the GBA? I saw some YouTube videos about those. If they are the movies that seems like it would be a great collectors item for a collection.

Also, are you sure it isnt bootleg?

1. No they are actual games. They were made by THQ though and they usually make good ones.

2. No it was complete in-box.

They're early 2000s licensed shovelware at a time the problem was probably at its worst. I've played a whole bunch of those GBA games, the chance of them being any good is miniscule.

Obviously, your sister did want the gift. I mean, who wouldn't? She's most likely mad at you for some sort of other issue. Just walk up to her and apologize to her. Tell her she was right about everything and you love her.

If she asks what exactly you're apologizing for, idk what to tell you though. You don't know and neither do I. Best advice is to just cause a distraction to avoid the question. With my sister, I will generally pee my pants in order to create a spectacle and also because fear

Get them a Switch instead and Scarlet/Violet.

Considering the circumstances, I dont fault you for drawing that line of logic.

For gifts you have to consider other variables other than: if A and B are in the category of liked thing then AB will be a good gift

You should try to consider outside factors. Like yeah she likes Pixar and video games but a game with Pixar may be created for little kids in mind. Or may not be high quality. Etc.
You haven't set a signature for the message boards yet
Should have just made a hair pin/barrette out of it for her.
