Yes. I grew up in a family of people who shit on every good thing anyone ever experienced, either intentionally or unintentionally. Someone always found some way to take someone down a peg and I resolved at a young age not to be like that. I like when good things happen to the people I care about. Or even people I don't care about tbh.Yo, same. My parents pushed me to be more social and to make friends. Then when I did they talked shit about them nonstop while
Why wouldnt you be able to be?
Depends on the circumstance, I guess. Like, I have friends who I was never romantically involved with, people I wasn't tryna get with or anything, and I absolutely wish them the best and would do anything for them. This ignores your personal beef criteria but I actively root against some people I grew up with/around. Im happy for the people I mentioned above though.
As long as you don't have some kind of personal / political beef, I don't see why not.

Oh, for sure. There are absolutely people that I know that I used to get along w/ or TRIED to get along w/, but they were just terrible human beings, and so fuck'em.For sure. I wish the best for my closest friends and (most of) my family. I get happy for them. But there are some people from my hometown/school that I would t piss on if they were on fire.
This may sound obvious, but it's super easy to be happy for people that you like.

I guess what Im saying is this subject is nuanced and you shouldnt feel bad for turning your back on the assholes who had it coming.
I got sucker punched in high school while trying to deescalate a fight between my friend and about 5 other guys. They never saw charges because one kid was classically My dads a lawyer.
Two weeks later his house burned down and he was going around school asking for donations in this dumb church collection plate. He didnt get but like $40.
Sorry for overhearing.
No worries, my dude. I've been there, too.Lmao I was in a similar situation as you. Started dating a girl at the ski resort I worked at and the bar in the center of the village had a bartender who hated me for dating her. He would intentionally overcharge me for shots and beers out of spite.
The story about you getting sucker punched trying to break up a fight rings entirely too true for me lol. It wasn't breaking up a fight, but me and a few friends were leaving a local show one night and this dude who hated me cuz of the chick I was dating at the time sucker punched me. Like, he was mad cuz a friend of his couldn't fuck my girlfriend, cuz she was dating me.
People are fucking wild.
Youre right. People are fucking wild. Its why I rarely take the missus out to bars now.
For real. I don't like going to bars and shit myself anyway, but I definitely wouldn't bother on any regular basis if I were actively dating someone.I loved it in my 20s, but we live in a college town and I really dont want to deal with some frat boy and his sexually frustrated brothers wearing the same button down stripies who might react violently after I tell him Thats my wife.
