I got a prebuilt at the end of 2020 because that was the only way to get a 3080 card without paying scalper prices. It's feeling kind of outdated now but will stick with it as long as possible.

You just need to upgrade your RAM and maybe the processor and you'll be fine for another 2+ years honestly.

Depends on what resolution someone wants to play at. 3080 isn't exactly a 4k card for newer AAA games.

Lol yeah thats what I was going to say. Everything that TC posted is not even remotely bad in the least. The CPU is still great and the amount of RAM is more than enough for most things.

Heck I'm running some similar stuff in my PC, notably a Ryzen 7 5700x, 64GB of RAM (complete overkill BTW, I don't even need this much) and a EVGA GeForce RTX 3070

I know a dude who bought a $2,000 MSI Infinite pre-built in 2021 because of GPU shortage. After 2 years his Dragon liquid cooler failed and fried half his components. The case weighed 50 lbs and was 70% glass so it was impossible to work in.

I have a woot refurb from like 11 years ago that I still use

Intel i7 4770k
12GB DDR3 RAM
nVidia 1050TI

latest game I own is Outlast Trials and it actually runs extremely well. But I mostly play a fan run Everquest server so I am typically satisfied with my performance.

It is impossible to live in the past, difficult to live in the present, and a waste to live in the future.

my computer is a fossil that needs to be replaced.

if i do end up replacing i'm planning on a refurbished working model. i don't do much gaming with it anyway.

At least you're self-aware.
Politicians are the weeds of the galaxy.
I felt that way too but really we can still run modern games on high settings at 2160p with that set up. Ray tracing has to be shut off or turned to low though. It just cant max out every modern game now is all. Its still leagues better graphically than what the current gen consoles can do at least.
Sig
That's still a pretty solid PC. I'd consider an upgrade to 32GB RAM (and maybe updating to Windows 11, which shouldn't cost anything besides time) but otherwise you're good for a while yet.
