There are parts of the homeless population where just giving them a house is a perfectly valid way to end their homelessness, but those are generally not the kind of people who live permanently out on the streets. The section of the homeless population that is the most visible are the kind where just offering them a house isn't going to end things for them.
True, but we also have the resources to help them as well. We chose instead to fund massive police forces that exist solely to be the boot on the neck of the working class.
