In December 2017, as the #MeToo movement continued to gain traction, Spurlock wrote a lengthy social media post saying he was part of the problem. In the post, he admitted to serial infidelities and said he had settled an allegation of sexual harassment from a former assistant. He also said he had been accused of rape in college. The post effectively ended Spurlocks documentary career, as Spurlock stepped down from Warrior Poetsshortly after.

Apparently much of Spurlock's symptoms are caused by alcohol abuse rather than solely the McDonalds diet. Other people tried the same experiment as him and showed no symptoms.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Size_Me#Counter-claimsSomeone made a counter documentary called Fat Head in which he ate McDonalds but crucially skipped on soda and fries and he actually lost weight and the bad kind of fat.

RIP to an entertaining guyHaha, same! That, and The Founder are the ultimate tools to make me want to go to Micky D's immediately!
But supersize me had the opposite effect for me. Seeing a guy eat McDs for a whole documentary made me crave McDs real bad
Yeah, it was propaganda. He was an alcoholic who stopped drinking around the time he started binging for the documentary. The doctor found liver damage from the alcohol at the end of the film, and it was made out to be caused by the food.fully leaving out that he was heavily drinking during the movie was so irresponsible. Fast food is obviously not good for you, but it will NOT do many of the things that the movie claimed it will.
tbh even if it was bullshit the end result which was getting rid of the super size was a good thing. Portion sizes for meals are insane in this country.

It was a dumb movie. If you eat Mcdonald's three times a day for weeks of course you're going to feel it.The real issue with the doc is the effects he said he had from eating it weren't even legitimate.
I don't think I'd heard of this.Makes him a dbag but in some weird way I admire his honesty. In a world where everyone just denies everything it's refreshing to own up to your mistakes.

Didn't he lie about not drinking alcohol then his symptoms from fast food turned out to be alcohol related? Like his liver swelling up and a doc called him out on it.
I don't think the doctor directly called Spurlock out on it, but he did say he had only ever seen these symptoms and level of deterioration in people who heavily consume alcohol.and then the documentary attributed the liver damage as a consequence of the food which was really irresponsible
