the only Esport with tried and true staying power is StarcraftRocket League is still going strong even though Epic is trying their best to kill it for Fortnite
2D Fighting gameAn entire crowd hyping up a Tetris player sounds pretty funny, ngl.
3D Fighting game
Solo player FPS
Team Based FPS
Puyo Puyo Tetris
Platformer
Metroidvania Speedrun any%, but the higher the %, the more points you get vs time
I will absolutely watch professional competitive Puyo Puyo Tetris
i have zero issue with esports
but im not sure how you can have an olympics for it
the only Esport with tried and true staying power is StarcraftYep. I believe it's one of the early Esports of it's time and has become South Korea's national pastime sport. Starcraft: Brood War is still popular in that country.
There's already gaming championships no need for this. Chess world championships, board game world championships etc.
I think it will be it's own seperate Olympics. I don't think they will be part of the normal Olympics. We will have theI like your idea. It should be its own thing. It has nothing to do with summer and winter whatsoever. Have the E games held on an odd number year, while the summer/winter Olympics are held on even number years.
Summer Games
Winter Games
E Games
As long as they don't mix gamers with athletes, I don't give a shit what they do
Esports coming into the olympics while weightlifting in danger of being kicked out of the olympics. Wild timeline we're in.Not so long ago wrestling was in the same boat. You literally cannot have the Olympics without the oldest sport ever that made the Olympics. I'm glad they came to their senses.
alright, so hear me outOlympic Mario Party
Olympic QWOP
Bronze Medals are digital-only. Silver Medals are exclusive to the Epic Store. Physical-edition Gold Medals can be preordered for $299.99.National anthem soundtrack dlc $2.99 per track
There's already gaming championships no need for this. Chess world championships, board game world championships etc.
The Olympic timetable is four years. How many games now are sure of will be e-sport relevent in 2028?
At least traditional sports have proven staying power.
This is so stupid. "Guys we already have FIBA let's just cut Basketball from the Olympics"Nobody ever says oh that Chuck barkley. He never won a ring but hey, that's OK cause he won the olympics. Stupid, indeed. Think, bud, think.
Bronze Medals are digital-only. Silver Medals are exclusive to the Epic Store. Physical-edition Gold Medals can be preordered for $299.99.No refunds foe the pre order if you don't win gold lmao
we did it gamers, video games are officially a sport now
There's probably going to be an Olympic edition of games that are designed to go through with little to no updates for 4 years. If you want to compete, that's what you'll have to practice on.
Updates or not aren't really a concern to me, but fan interest. That's way more fickle and harder to forecast for the lion's share of a console generation.Pro athletes aren't really the same thing as fans. The guys still playing competitive StarCraft 2 aren't doing it because of a huge fan base. Lots of Olympic sports have fan bases smaller than some popular video games.
Saudi money can make anything happen.*buys SNK*
The Olympic timetable is four years. How many games now are sure of will be e-sport relevent in 2028?They could include some older games that have shown some staying power by way of their dedicated competitive scenes, like Super Street Fighter II Turbo , Tetris , Super Smash Bros. Melee , StarCraft , Marvel vs. Capcom 2 , etc.
At least traditional sports have proven staying power.
I guess I could see if the IOC developed (or commissioned) games themselves that summarize an overall genre instead of choosing existing ones.
