It just seems like a gimmick to me. Are there supposed to be any benefits other than a slightly shorter phone?
Here are what I mainly use it for:
-
Easier to handwrite notes on a larger screen (arguably its best feature I use the most often)
-
Use multiple apps at once (like copying a code from one app and putting it in another, or read a text message without interrupting a book I'm reading or video I'm watching)
-
Watch pictures and videos in a larger resolution
-
Buttons in mobile games are more accessible
-
You can fold it halfway horizontally to stand your phone up without any added accessories when laying it on a flat surface
-
You can take selfies while seeing the preview in a much larger screen to catch more of the background
-
Typing on the keyboard is a game changer without constantly hitting the wrong key as there is more space for your fingers on the unfolded screen
-
I still get all the benefits of a regular phone while closed in addition to all the above features while open
