Well, you posted with no list so Ive randomly decided youre off to Rwanda. Have fun.I run a dispensary so hopefully that's legal, if not since I get a similar job can I just be a drug dealer?

Nah, I'd win
In exchange for what?
That just sounds like putting yourself in a potentially bad situation for no benefit.
I really liked it there, when I visited.
Why is moving to another country a bad situation? It can be a great experience.
sorry, I didn't mean to imply anything.
I know that there are a lot of places more difficult to live than others, but if you're seen as a tourist and you learn some stuff (like bartering), you might have a better experience than you might have expected.
Unpredictability. Unstable governments and economies. If I can't choose where I'm going, then it could also turn into a horrible experience very quickly

Well thats why you get to narrow the field significantly so that its not just a random country. Did you not read the OP?
You could be but that doesnt mean that you wouldnt have to deal with law enforcement and rival dealers, so you may want to consider a career change.Nah im good I'll take my chances with drug dealer

I couldn't come up with ten countries I'd want to live in for 5 years so that means there's a chance I'd have to go somewhere I don't want to go. What's my motivation to do that?

Honestly, I went with them because they're very close to my inlaws in Italy. Although Austria is the most beautiful place I've ever been to, and Germany near Austria isn't far off.
Basically I'm happy anywhere surrounding the Alps. Maybe even just on the Alps, if I can get a cabin and gas.
Youre off to France. Im a tad jealous.
It's a bit unfortunate as it was the bottom of my list for a reason, as I'm not sure if I actually know anyone there. But it is still Europe, so I do still have the ability to visit people I know in other European countries. Now to hope the French classes I took in grades 4-11 are helpful enough to get me by.
Not knowing anybody isnt a problem for long.
When I moved to the country Im in now, I didnt really know anybody. There were some girls Id lined dates up with online but Id never met them so I wouldnt say I knew them.
By the end of my first couple of weeks I had a wide circle of friends. Expats tend to look out for each other so its probably easier than you think.
I just meant that if this was a real situation, it would have been nice to take advantage of it to meet some people in person that I only know online. Possibly also meet up again with some people that I have met in person previously, but that's mostly just the USA, and weirdly Australia. I'm Canadian for the record. So it's not that it was a problem, it just doesn't have as much incentive. But I could only think of 7 that I know for sure I know someone from it. Of the others, I'm reasonably certain I know someone from Finland, but can't specifically think of who since I don't always remember who is from what country when interacting with people online, and Ireland was the other one along with France that I'm just not sure of.

I honestly don't think I could trim it down to just 10 countries. Travelled to a lot while in the Navy and there are so many amazing places around the world.
Also it would REALLY depend on the city or region in some of these countries. Like there are some beautiful and awesome places in South America but some areas are really poor and kind of run down. So it can vary wildly.
Overall though I'd say for beauty, weather, and just general enjoyment a lot of the places I went to on my Mediterranean deployment would be quite nice. The Med, into the Black Sea. Also the Baltic Sea area nordic countries.
For the purposes of playing along I'll just throw out 10 but my answer could be different if asked tomorrow. Give me

This is leaving off SO many places. Places like Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, other great Med spots like France and Spain, Greece, and Croatia. This isn't even taking into South America. And purely for food I could live in certain spots of India. Indonesia too. Then you have all the places like Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and others. Seriously. But anyway I gave you my list.
