Should I use Sableye or Absol for my playthrough of Pokemon Emerald Legacy?

For those unaware, Emerald Legacy is a recently released ROM hack made by SmithPlays, the same guy and team who previously made "Legacy" ROM hacks for Yellow and Crystal as well. I enjoyed those 2 a lot, so I'm checking this one out too.

Anyways, Sableye and Absol both got some buffs in this ROM hack, and I can't decide which one I want to use as my Dark type. Sableye got more bulk (going from bases of 50/70/65 in its HP and defenses to 70/90/95) and I planned to use it as an annoying staller with Toxic, Protect, and Dig. Meanwhile, Absol got its SpAtk improved (from a base of 75 to 95) and Dark-type attacks are now all physical (swapped with Ghost which is now all special) so they run off its better Attack stat. I would likely use Absol as a mixed attacker with physical Dark STAB along with elemental coverage like Ice Beam and Thunderbolt.

My team right now after just beating Flannery is Grovyle, Masquerain, Sandslash, Vulpix (but I have Strength now to go get the Fire Stone and evolve it to Ninetales), Metang (this ROM hack added Beldum as a 1% encounter in the room of Granite Cave where you deliver the letter to Steven), and the aforementioned Sableye. So should I replace Sableye with Absol once I reach the later route where it can be found, or should I stick with Sableye the whole way?

If it were me, I would use Absol.

I don't mess around with annoying stall/chip tactics in game. Just hit 'em with the big attacks.

Seems like Absol is the popular pick so far. I still have some time before I make it far enough to catch Absol, so I'll think about it more. In the meantime, if anyone wants to chat about this Emerald Legacy ROM hack (or any of the previous 2 that I mentioned from the same team) then feel free. They're definitely worth trying out.

Bump. Sableye doesn't have Protect yet, but Dig and Toxic let it cheese Norman's Slaking.

My buddys fave pokemon all-time is sableye, so I vote him

Sableye is just a passive pokemon and personally when it comes to ingame I don't like having a passive pokemon.

I would vote Absol, because Absol is bound to do more for an in-game team.

Absol was one of those 'mons I bent over backwards to make viable despite its limitations, so that's my vote.

Bump, Absol wins, gonna go catch one now and teach it Thunderbolt. It's very convenient that if I use a Repel with my level 31 party lead on this route, only Absol and Kecleon (who has an even lower encounter rate) will appear. Hopefully I can get one with a good nature.
