Just the simple fact I can choose what my bluetooth devices can receive(no audio through my earpiece, only calls) is awesome
You can do that with an iPhone, though.
Yeah iPhones are extremely overpriced for what they are. Most people just get them because they see them as a status symbol.

What phone did you get?
Its just a phone, I dont really care about customisation. iPhones work well out of the box and everything just works in my experience. I have a desktop PC to customise to my hearts desire, I dont need to do it on a phone, I just want the phone to work
Also, do other phones do this? My kids are always snatching my phone to take pictures and videos and I have 1000s of pictures going back years. My Pixel lets me search through my photos by name and the AI just pulls them up. I can type "poodle" and it will show me all my dogs pictures, for example.
I have a Pixel 8 pro and it does exactly what you describe. It syncs up easily to your Google account and is screens calls for me. I abandoned Samsung after the Note 7 debacle, and I don't miss the Galaxy android environment with all it's bloatware. What made me switch from Android back to iOS was nonstop issues with the Android App Store. Constantly having to uninstall, downgrade to old versions, clear cache in 3 different areas while rebooting the phone etc just to get app updates to work for a few days before breaking again. Probably fixed by now but Im not gonna switch ecosystems again unless Android offers something I care about. The Samsung fold is very very close to that but I value my AirPods ease of use slightly more

Apple is a status symbol for sureNot when greater than 50% of people in the US have them. Status symbols by definition imply exclusivity and rarity - iPhones have none of that. They're the everyman smartphone.

A Rolex wouldn't be a Rolex if everybody had them.

The Galaxy s24 UltraWelcome to the club, such an amazing phone!
Maybe its because I dont pay attention to cellphones and dont have one so I dont know the models but I find it strange everyone always puts down Apple and says its a status symbol but not once in my life have I ever been able to identity a phone other than cell phone. Virtually every person I see has a case that renders the phone unrecognizable at a glance.Status symbols are dumb all the way down to the conceptual level tbh. Nobody cares, lol.
I couldnt tell you what brand or model if my life depended on it. Hell I could t tell you what phone it was even if the phone wasnt in a case. I would only be able to recognize an iPhone if I could turn it on and look at the OS and then I could recognize it because I have an iPad tablet so would be familiar enough to recognize it then.

Virtually every person I see has a case that renders the phone unrecognizable at a glance.A lot of iPhone users used to (or still do) complain about "green bubbles" which is a thing where the iPhone user will have green chat bubbles if they are texting someone that isn't using iMessage. There were girls who even said they wouldn't date someone who didn't have an iPhone. A few of my gf's friends (or rather friends of one of her closest friends) even had this mentality. It was such a weird and immature thing and they'd even suggest other people to get an iPhone so that they don't have to see green bubbles. It was even all over the internet. There was definitely a lot of elitism going on around it.

A lot of iPhone users used to (or still do) complain about "green bubbles" which is a thing where the iPhone user will have green chat bubbles if they are texting someone that isn't using iMessage. The funny thing about this is that it's quintessentially an Apple problem. If those superficial people don't want to see green bubbles on their phone then it's Apple they need to complain to. They are the ones who control the OS and can color the text bubbles to anything they please. I have a Galaxy S23 Ultra and all my chat bubbles are the same - doesn't matter what phone you used to text me.
All the IT guys I know run with Android. I had an i6 then turned to Android and haven't looked back.BS in the battery. I have had mine 9 mo months, charge every day, and it is still %100.
Apple is a status symbol for sure. I just didn't want any part of the eco system and it's restrictive nature. Plus those batteries only last a year or so.
But at the end of the day...they all do the same thing.
