Exactly. iPhones have over 50% marketshare in the US, I believe. Thus, by definition, it
can't be a status symbol if every other person on the street has one. Quite the opposite in fact.
A status symbol is something that is usually exclusive and displays wealth and your social position. Your phone company will give you an iPhone for free if you start a new line with them.
