I'm coming down from my most recent VN of a few months ago, the Great Ace Attorney Duology. (Which I loved, as some much needed fresh air for the series)

Up next in my backlog I have either Raging Loop or Chaos;Head. Thoughts on these two and if one is worthy of prioritization?
move all remaining groundhog mercenaries to the front lines. Have sheep troopers squadrons A and B flank the cows. They're using DC-17 hoof blasters.
Is there a general visual novel board on this websight

I'm sorry I can't help you but have to say back on the PS3 I played a game called Tears to Tiara II Heir of the Overlord. It was half visual novel and half strategy RPG. I had never played nor was interested in a visual novel but I loved strategy RPG's and really liked the look of this game so gave it a chance.

Ended up being an absolute gem. I found myself so invested in the story and the voice acting was superb. It invoked emotion in me rarely done in games. The strategy RPG part was really fun and well done but I found myself so invested in the visual novel aspect of it too.

Never played another one again but man that game was good.

i've heard mixed things about Chaos;Head but never heard of the other one.
I have lost the will to live; simply nothing more to give.
There is nothing more for me; need the end to set me free.
I started Chaos;Head but didn't get very far in it. The main character was just obnoxious to be in the mindspace of.

I assume that's kind of the point and that it will take him on a journey, but it was so bad I just put it down. I want to return to it at some point, but it was not what I wanted in my life at that time.
I have played both of them

chaos;head has a sort of interesting world and concept but it is dragged down immensely by the absolutely awful protagonist. he's like a mega introvert who spends the majority of the story trying not to get involved with anything and hiding in his room. he's interesting as a character and would be totally fine as a side character but the fact you are forced to experience everything through him is just absolutely awful. if the setting and concept is interesting to you I'd recommend playing chaos;child instead, which is sort of a vaguely very loosely connected sequel that works fine standalone

raging loop is just all around great. the pacing is wonderful, there's always something happening in the moment and suspense over what will happen next. a lot of VNs drag especially in the early parts but raging loop is just entertaining the whole way through. it has a sizeable cast of characters and there's only a few I didn't really care for. in stark contrast to chaos;head, the protag is probably one of the coolest chad protags in the entire medium. I would recommend this over most other VNs, let alone the trash you have in your other backlog spot lol
THIS IS WHAT I HATE A BOUT EVREY WEBSITE!! THERES SO MUCH PEOPLE READING AND POSTING STUIPED STUFF
Ive played both

i did not like chaos;head. It has a compelling serial killer mystery at its core and is very atmospheric. Theres just a wonderful sense of dread for most of the story. Thats the good part. The bad part is the protagonist and every single thought he has and everything he says and every single thing he does. He is easily the worst protagonist out of any media Ive consumed.
the girls are generic as well

raging loop is pretty good. It starts decent, the middle is great, but it doesnt have a satisfying finale IMO. Overall its worth the read though
Chaos;Head legit made me angry. The protagonist needs his ass kicked 758 ways to sunday. Any good the game may have is erased because of him.

I enjoyed both Raging Loop and Chaos;Head.

People rightfully mention how unpleasant the main character is in Chaos;Head, but you're not meant to like him. He's pathetic, paranoid and delusional. The atmosphere in Chaos;Head is thick and fantastic, you gradually become drawn into the conspiracy and some parts are genuinely unsettling. It's the first entry in the Science Adventure series and every subsequent entry (including Steins;Gate) builds upon the themes established in this game.If you read this, make sure you get the Committee of Zero improvement patch as the original translation is pretty awful.

Raging Loop is a wild ride where you're drawn into a game of werewolf where each night one of the villagers will be murdered and the following day theres a banishment ceremony where someone will be killed in an attempt to root out the werewolf. The thing is that you have the ability to 'loop' and travel back in time upon death. Sadly the ending leaves a lot to be desired, while I wouldn't say it ruins the entire story like I've seen some say, it is pretty lame. It's a shame because 99% of the story is great.
Haven't played Chaos;Head, but have Raging Loop. I found Raging Loop really interesting, would definitely give that one a rec
