how to make the best grilled cheese (american cheez)?

I don't use Kraft, though it certainly does melt better. I prefer to mix and match my cheeses, like use cheddar or swiss for it. I typically melt butter in a pan, slap the sandwich on it to soak up a chunk of the butter, then flip it over and get the other side with more butter. Cook till golden brown and then done.

If I do swiss I might add some honey ham or black forest ham. Cheddar I typically have with tomato soup. Amount of cheese varies, usually at least 2 - 4 slices. Also I use sliced italian bread or just white bread
