Solid 7/10. I think it would have been a 8/10 if it ended after Luca Blight was defeated, but all that stuff afterwards just seemed unnecessary. I would have liked to see some more backstory regarding Luca and what made him go nuts in the first place. I know we get minor details on it, but I just wanted more.

With this, I've finished 4/5 main Suikoden games. The only one I have left to finish is 4, which I'm forced to play through from the start as I got halfway through and then took a break, only to forget where I had to go afterwards, so I stopped playing.

So far, my rankings of the 5 games are as follows: S5>S3>S2=S1>S4. S3 gets a bit of a tip due to my personal history with the game. But 5 is still my favourite of the series.
I definitely don't want to see more of what made him break. Some fucked up shit happened to him and his mom. I'm hoping you just want more context of why all that happened in the first place, which would probably be interesting
I don't believe in belts. There should be no ranking system for toughness.

Pretty much that. I don't have the best memory in the world, but I don't remember hearing about what made him break in the first place. Because his story was a hell of a lot more interesting than Jowys.

It's not reported in the game, but from some sources from outside the game (creator interviews I believe, not 100% sure of the exact source).

Basically, the mayor of Muse city hired a bunch of bandits to attack the Highland royal caravan. Luca's father Agares fled. The bandits then turned on Luca's mother - he was forced to watch as they raped her. Luca's half-sister Jillia was born as a result of that rape. This is not really alluded to in the game...there *is* a section where Luca remarks that Jillia shouldn't cry about Agares's death since Agares was not actually her father, but that's about it
Not changing this sig until the Knicks win the NBA Championship! Started 4/23/2010!

I remember that scene, it made me think that, but I wasn't sure.
Yeah, the stuff after Luca was. Definitely not as thrilling or interesting. They should have used that plot point earlier. I know it ties up loose ends from the first game, but it really didnt feel like it earned to be right after the climax of the game.

People put too much importance on Luca. The main focus should always about the bond between Riou and Joey. I believe they made that pretty clear from the get go. They were fated to face each other no matter what and no matter how strong their bond as friends were they were still compelled to fight.

Luca basically went insane over a traumatic experience as a child so he just wanted the world to burn. It's pretty generic if you ask me.
Don't like it? Don't watch it. It's that simple

I think they accidentally made the Lica part more interesting though. They reallyyyyyyyy didnt do a good job of building up the Jowy stuff. Like yeah its there, but even Luca manipulates part of it.

But even if the Jowy stuff were better, it doesnt fix the fact that the vampire stuff was still really mid and not as interesting as what came before.

If you ask me, Jowys role should have been given to that strategist who held the beast rune.
