What happens?
The horrors persist but so do I.
Fucks up the gravitational force and messes with the tides quite a bit. Tectonic issues as well which means more earthquakes and volcano eruptions most likely.

I don't know the exact science around it, but I would assume that we die.

Nothing in the scenario indicates that the mass of the moon changed, just the size .

Water+Fall=Radiation.
Assuming the mass also changed...

The difference between high and low tide would get much more extreme.

Instead of the moon circling the Earth, they'd both circle the halfway point in space so wobbling forward and backwards on our orbit would cause greater temperature fluctuation.

Well the sun would be frequently blocked out leading to what I would imagine is an immediate ice age, and dying off of plants/animals in the world, and eventually most of humanity.

I think the two bodies would collide by gravitational forces.
This is better than the earth growing the same size as the moon.

It would be closer. Remember its halfway between the Lagrange point. If the mass stayed the same it would be larger tides and work the tectonics more. If the mass got larger it would tear both apart.

In my time in Elite Dangerous I saw plenty of systems like this. I distinctly remember 2 earth size planets orbiting each other. I brought it up to the forum at the time and explained the distance is within the Roche limit
