They've used the same strategy in the past, just without the negative pr. They supported the NES into the SNES's life cycle, GB into GBA, Wii into WiiU.
Though, I doubt they're going to continue to actually support the Switch in the same way considering they're barely producing games for it at this point.
They may have to, depending on how harsh Trump impacts things.
