also, this might just be a matter of FEMA not having any money or personnel anymore. When the first Cat 5 hurricane hits this year we'll see what they have left, but it probably won't be good.
Don't worry they'll just send in the regular Army to assist the National Guard.

Well, that's been the norm but who knows nowadays.

Let's see if all the people posting bullshit lies about Biden ONLY giving Asheville people like $700.
Rage is a hell of an anesthetic.
I like how when Trump does something horrible to people, you can count on some of the same names to show up and start going "I bet you people are happy because you want to punish others!" pretty much every time, condemning people on an internet message board more than Trump himself.

it's usually just the Army Corps of Engineers that helps with natural disasters(they build stuff like bridges and tunnels and roads), not the regular Army

Can't quote that post since it's just quotes, but just mentioning that I am replying to it, and yeah, that is my bad, I did misread what I was responding to.

I feel like I knew he was military but not Army

also, I didn't mean to discount the ACoE or anything. Building roads and tunnels and bridges is an important part of any foreign military operation we'd be doing.

Just mentioning it, wasn't attacking.

Hopefully didn't come off that way.

We can be sent, but it isn't exactly... common .

And usually only for immediate relief, like first couple weeks.

I don't think I've ever heard of Regular Army being sent for tornado response, but we sent people to Asheville and I believe to Hurricane Milton.

Also, fwiw, the Army is so big and response forces can be so small (200 or less) that you could spend your entire career never going to or knowing anyone who was sent in response to a natural disaster.

Not sure. What about the ones that did?
Sucks, but they should look at their majority who voted Trump. Their state voted for this, and now that state is being held accountable for the dumb decision.

They want to get upset at someone, try getting upset at Trump, the people that voted 3rd party, voted Trump, or stayed home. They are the reason the state is being held accountable for voting Trump.
Trump will treat every state equally with such disrespect.

Arkansass two Republican senators and four Republican representatives sent a letter to Trump yesterday, asking the president to reconsider after he denied Sanders request for a major disaster declaration after a double shot of fatal storms last month.

Sen. Tom Cotton, in particular, gained infamy for arguing against sending federal dollars to the Northeast after Hurricane Sandy hit in 2012. That storm killed more than 100 people in the United States and caused tens of billions of dollars in damages. Cottons votes reflected his sentiment. He voted no on multiple appropriations for Hurricane Sandy recovery.

How Rand Paul-ian of Cotton to ask for aid for his state after voting to deny it for others.

So am I supposed to feel bad for Tom Cotton too?
Who is? I am!

People don't care that there are plenty of good people in Arkansas, they only care that they see it as a red state, so they'll celebrate.

Only two things can end a Republican's career - a dead girl or a live boy.
Arkansas getting what they voted for, and will vote for again.
Time is a funny thing, you know? I guess in the big picture of my life, you were only a blip. But oftentimes, those "blips" make the biggest impacts.
I mean, it's fucking Arkansas. They will blame black people or jews or trans people.
Come out and live with a community in a beautiful place out in the country
From the people who brought you "What has government and paying taxes ever done for me?" and "I can't believe Biden's FEMA refused to help Republicans"

They won't learn from this because they'll eat up the lie that the program was secretly so screwed up and this was inevitable, which is why they shouldn't be paying federal taxes. Because increased state tax revenue, or just the revenue you keep from not paying taxes, will surely be enough to make up for California not subsidizing your 100s of millions worth of damages.

Is Tom Cotton's signature on the letter to Trump? Would love to read "his" languaging...
