Space Odyssey FF could be dope. Cosmic Exploration in FFXIV is nowhere near gonna scratch that itch for me I think. They're probably scared after tSW though.

I think I might prefer a setting similar to FFX. Like ancient, fantasy Japan. And yes I know FFX isn't technically set in Japan. I just don't want a medieval/western setting like FF16.

I like it when its a combination of both. Starts out slightly medieval/ high fantasy then we end up discovering a higher civilization full of fancy tech.

I came in here to say that they likely will go back to a turn based system in the next game. The vocal minority complaining about turn based being boring has died down and replaced with the roar for its return. Plus, considering the lack of success from their non-MMO's since 10 they have to come to the conclusion of one common factor since then.

In turn-based battling, enemies don't attack you during your turn, and you don't have to wait for a time gauge to fill up. FF1-3 and FF10 are turn-based. But that's not what I want. Enemies can attack you while you're still deciding on an action in active-time battle. Also, for your examples of "PIN number", "ATM machine", it'd make more sense if I had said, "bring back ATB battle".

This game's not coming out for another 10 years, and Square has made it clear they have a totally moronic platform strategy so I'm pretty sure the company has a going concern issue. There's no point in speculating what it may or may not be.
