Six months after Missouri voters approved an abortion-rights amendment, Republican state lawmakers on Wednesday approved a new referendum that would seek the amendments repeal and instead ban most abortions with exceptions for rape an incest.
The newly proposed constitutional amendment would go back to voters in November 2026, or sooner, if Republican Gov. Mike Kehoe calls a special election before then.
PS - Abortion is the greatest tragedy in the world right now, Republican state Sen. Mary Elizabeth Coleman said while explaining her efforts to repeal the abortion-rights amendment. If someones fine with taking the life of an innocent, then probably you can justify whatever you want.https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/f/f06f05af.png
Yeah, she actually said that.
Yeah, can we stop pretending voting is going to stop Republicans?
This isn't the first time they've pulled shit like this either.Yep, this is on par with Missouri. Voters pass something, repugs draft an amendment with ballot candy and misleading motives that dumb voters will fall for and then repeal the thing they just approved a year before
Yeah, can we stop pretending voting is going to stop Republicans? Because they refused to accept the results of a Supreme Court election in North Carolina, and tried to overturn the bill on legal marijuana in Ohio that people overwhelmingly voted in favor of.The problem isn't that people merely do or don't vote Republican. They vote Republican under the belief that politics is a la carte, and not winner take all. So they vote Republican but only cause they want the racism and not cause they want the medicaid cuts or they vote Republican cause they want rights rolled back for LGBTQ but they want their own voting rights respected. So regardless of "just vote harder" we still get Republicans in office cause the electorate just plain doesn't understand the assignment.
They also repealed sick leave that voters wanted as well.Sure is wild how Missourians keep voting for the party that repeals the things they want, huh

Also, it's not taking a life, it's removing a growth.
