So a family member got me a 50 dollar Best Buy gift card for my bday, and I was thinking of getting Forza Horizon 5 for ps5, which doesnt have a physical edition to get at the store. Are you allowed to use the card at the store to buy a 50 dollar PS store gift card?

Most retailers won't let you do that but there are some weird exceptions. For example Amazon won't let you buy a Switch eShop gift card using an Amazon gift card, but you can buy a prepaid NSO subscription card with one.

One possible workaround would be to see if you can find somebody willing to purchase the PS card for you and just do a swap. This is one reason why gift cards are a lame and lazy gift and far less useful than just giving the person the cash you spent on them.
