You can do all the mental gymnastics and twist the facts all you want:
No facts were twisted. They're just facts.
That so called "oh it was just a pro military event" only allowed soldiers that supported Trump. Trump spoke his views there and got nothing but applause, as they also sold MAGA merch there. Keep moving goalposts.
You're twisting everything and going against your so called views because it's a wrestler you like.
I also never called him a hardcore MAGA, stop conflating everyone you're arguing with as the same person. I called him a hypocrite, just like Punk is, because their values switch on a dime when they're being paid.

Cornette is one of the most out-of-touch people when it comes to modern wrestling, but he's almost always on point when it comes to political takes.

With how boomer-y his wrestling takes are, you wouldn't expect Cornette to lean so liberal with his political takes. It's a pleasant surprise.

Kevin Nash is another guy in wrestling that's very liberal who I never would have suspected. With how much he pushed his weight around the business in WCW/TNA and how buddy-buddy he was with Hulk Hogan for a while, he also seemed like the type of guy who would eventually be a trumper... but nope, Big Daddy Cool is a hardcore liberal and major LGBTQ+ ally. He's great.

Yep, still no self respect.
You don't show up to a glorified Trump rally where only supporters of Trump were allowed to attend and claim you're not MAGA.

Facts. At the Very least youre helping his agenda.

I find this fucked up, is no better than the bigotry on the right and makes you a hypocrite. Professional wrestling is a industry with people from all walks of life just like any other.

This.

Reigns is a chud. Jericho is a chud.

Kenny Omega is not a chud. New Day and Becky Lynch are not chuds.

It's silly to paint all of wrestling that way.

WWE management appear to mostly be chuds. Tony Khan's dad donated a million dollars to Trump. But Tony himself does not appear to be a chud, and many of the wrestlers working for both companies also don't appear to be. Painting it all in one stroke is silly.

Shad Khan seems like the type of rich guy who supports Republicans economically but not on social issues. He clearly spoken out against racism and against Trump's views on multiple occasions, and I can't find any evidence of him mirroring his 2016 donation in 2020 or 2024.

So I'm pretty sure he's not a chud, or at least, he's on the right side in terms of the social issues.

That's fair, you're probably right.

The point I was trying to make in general is that the actions at the top, or by more prolific bad actors, don't reflect everybody.

Maybe the good ones are out-numbered by the bad, who knows. But we have examples of people like Omega, Becky, etc. blatantly being on the right side of things, so it's unfair to say "100%."

My dude, I don't particularly give a shit what he says when he funds the people trying to kill the people he claims to support.

Like, "social liberal/fiscal conservative" is just MAGAt with a mask on.

But it seems like he dropped his support since you can't find him donating to Trump's other campaigns.

Exactly. Shad Khan probably donated to the 2016 campaign thinking Trump would just be another Republican president who would help give tax breaks to the rich, then regretted it as soon as the Muslim ban and other anti-immigration stuff started becoming much more prominent parts of his campaign and denounced it afterwards.

That article from 2020 that I posted before is the most recent thing I could find about Shad Khan's connection to politics, so I don't know.

If yes, then he's less of an idiot than the socially and fiscally conversative people, but still at least half an idiot.

Cornette's takes on wrestling really aren't that bad or extreme or out of touch.

He thinks people dropping on their heads for no reason and doing really dangerous shit for no money infront of 200 people is stupid.
He thinks setting yourself on fire is stupid.
He thinks clowns throwing pies in each others face in the middle of a serious feud between top guys is stupid.

And the internet by in large fully agreed and endorsed him for 30 years when he was saying this about WCW, TNA and WWE.

But when he says the exact same thing about AEW or the internet's favourite regional Japan or English guys, suddenly it's out of touch and trading Canadian destroyers or dropping people on their heads or suplexing people with their dick in front of 200 people for no money is the greatest thing ever and Corny's just out of touch

The only real thing I'd say is out of touch on is he can't fathom womens wrestling as anything other than a novelty. Which despite any personal opinion has clearly been a licence to print money for a decade now.

But I listen to his show pretty regularly and AEW fans really have to lie or massively exaggerate his views to pretend he's saying anything unreasonable, things they themselves agree with all of it when said about The E.

Man Cornette's out of touch for saying that was dumb.

Nah there are still liberal wrestlers in WWE. CM Punk, Sami Zayn, Roxanne Perez to name a few. I think a lot of the more liberal wrestlers know not to be vocal right now though.

CM Punk literally went to a No Kings protest in person last week. He earned a lot of respect from me with that.

Wasn't CM Punk a hardcore Christian or something early in his WWE career? Or was that just his wrestling persona back then? I just remember him being very religious.

I remember this. The reveal that Festus was the way he was because Jesse was keeping him under heavy sedatives or something like that the whole time was dark, but Punk setting him free from that led to him returning to his old self as Luke Gallows... and yet this version of Punk was supposed to be a heel for some reason? Looking back on it, it was so stupid. The only reasons the act got over as a heel at all was because Punk was so good at it and because he was feuding with Jeff Hardy, a babyface that could get just about anyone in wrestling booed.

It's fully expected considering that the company is run by right wing chuds. Vince was a big one before he left and Triple H isn't any different.
