The Trump administration has abruptly shifted the focus of its mass deportation campaign, telling Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials to largely pause raids and arrests in the agricultural industry, hotels and restaurants, according to an internal email and three U.S. officials with knowledge of the guidance.
The decision suggested that the scale of President Trumps mass deportation campaign an issue that is at the heart of his presidency is hurting industries and constituencies that he does not want to lose.
The new guidance comes after protests in Los Angeles against the Trump administrations immigration raids, including at farms and businesses. It also came as Mr. Trump made a rare concession this week that his crackdown was hurting American farmers and hospitality businesses.
Effective today, please hold on all work site enforcement investigations/operations on agriculture (including aquaculture and meat packing plants), restaurants and operating hotels, he wrote in the message.

It turns out deporting cheap labor was bad for the economy. Who knew?

As if this movie didn't come out and wasn't talked about for a year when it did.
it was all fun and games until he realized "oh shit, who's gonna pick the crops and serve me when i go to a restaurant??"
But raids at hospitals, schools, and churches are still on right?Or teens at their immigration hearings.
He didn't throw out the little girl that would die if she was off her treatment. Protesting works sometimes.

I don't recall that movie tbh.Might've been too young as it came out during the Bush Administration in 2004. Despite being a small, not particularly good movie, it was in all the headlines and discussions. It basically covered what everyone already knows(outside of Republicans). A lot of ppl claimed it was racist for casting a negative shadow on Americans(the kind of BS anti-Racists whine about).
