New Resident Evil games coming to Switch 2 at launch is pretty big. I was planning to get it on PC but now I'll get it for S2. I actually got the cloud versions of RE7 and 8 for like 70% off. I just finished RE7 and I hope I can just upgrade to the non-cloud versoins.

I didn't allow myself to get hyped with expectations but I really wasn't expecting some of the shit they rolled out... like Virtual Boy NSO.

There were a few things that I like, such as Dynasty Warriors Origins, Hyrule Warriors and Tomodachi Life. The Ditto thing looked cute too. But... still, I wasn't crazy about anything they showed off.

yes, but not even that many, and of course it requires the more expensive subscription, don't forget that
We will leave this place an empty stone
Also the VB games will be drip fed over the next couple years.

Yeah I dont understand showing all those games if they all wont be available for the next 3 years
Also there's going to be another Air Riders direct from Sakurai I guess.

The Virtual Boy thing would be big for me if they could be played on the TV. But if I cant do that, I can just play them on my actual Virtual Boy.
Looking foward to buying Danganronpa 2 for the fourth time.

This is the only baffling thing about the VB announcement. I could see needing it if you want the 3D effect, but to even PLAY them in the first place? That doesn't sound right.

But otherwise, I dunno. I didn't have any expectations for the Direct besides a Prime 4 release date and that's what I got. It wasn't super exciting but it wasn't disappointing to me either.

I went in with no expectations and enjoyed it.
...I think I'm done here...
I didn't like it at first, but I'm turning around on it. The problem with the longer directs is I always expect a greater volume of 1st party, but it's really an excuse for Nintendo to drop a bunch of 3rd party news. It was alright all things considered; I was hoping Nintendo wouldn't just do the most-likely Tennis to Golf cycle again for Mario sports and try to shake it up, but Mario Tennis is always a fun time.

The physical version release date had already been known since the pre-orders went up. It was just the digital date that wasn't known (although it did leak the other day).

There was a rumor of a Sept. 29/30 for digital due to the X-Box App temporarily posting that date before deleting it

It has more exclusives in its launch year than Wii U did in 3 years and that's not including the crossgen games that Wii U didn't have or the fact that it's the best selling launch in history and has already made half of Wii U's 5 year lifespan in 1 month. I'm sure TC himself would consider this a moronic clown take.

Pretty much. Switch 2 already has loads more motion than Wii U ever got, so it's really not a fair comparison.

Are you nostalgic for getting headaches minutes into playing video games? Then do we have a peripheral for you!
See you next Wednesday.
My expectations were low. I wasn't expecting a blow out of several AAA 1st party games. I was surprised in good ways and bad (disappointed) though.

I was surprised of the lack of MKW DLC being announced, but we got one for DK and another one announced for Z-A (a game that hasn't been out)
-I was also surprised at the lack of western games.. I was kinda expecting RDR2.
-The Virtual Boy needing an accessory to play was a head scratcher, as was no drops of any NSO games today (or coverage).

I don't mind the Mario remaster games, and there's a ton of other games that look interesting that I just will likely never get into, because I don't have the time.

The rest of the year and up to end of spring seems pretty jam packed. I know they're saving some good stuff for summer and holidays next year, so I'm not worried..My backlog is huge anyway..The games will come in time.
Less is more. Everything you want, isn't everything you need.
I thought it was great

The first years of a console are almost always dreadful. This direct confirmed to me that the Switch 2 will have the best second year of a new console in a very, very long time.

I asked for a physical collection on the 3DS, not a subscription only release that requires a peripheral. Got monkey paw-ed
There's a homebrew VB emulator for the 3DS that has a lot of features, customizable color palettes and even customizable 3D settings so the effect can look as it did on original hardware or more tailored to the 3DS. If you haven't tried it I can't recommend it enough.

The Wii U had New Super Mario Bros U at launch and did not have a second game until 8 months into the system's life, btw. Just thought that'd be an interesting fact to throw out for all the people who did not own a Wii U but act like experts on it.

If we get anything it'll be a mid-late 2026 launch at the earliest. There's a lot of overlap between the AC and Splatoon devs and EPD is busy with Splatoon Raiders. The only semblance of news we got were a few rumors that the next AC game would have a larger, open world formula.

i mean the console isn't even 3 month old and i remember how all nintendo's console cycle is when they start back when i bought wii so know first year it will be a slow drip. plus nintendo don't like to announce a game if it's not close to be done but they have broken this rule like with BOTW and MP4 which took years to finally after it's teaser to come out
that is why i am waiting to buy the console next year once the game library get's bigger by then

What? Looking at the list of Wii U games on Wikipedia, there were 34 Wii U launch games in North America.
Again, posts like above show who owned and who didn't own a Wii U. I got mine 2012 for Christmas, and had fun with NSMBU and Nintendo Land, but it was a dry season until I got MH3U in March I want to say (maybe April).

The Switch 2 is not nearly as good as the Switch's launch year, but it's better than quite a few of the other Nintendo launch years. 2017 was just a legendary year for Nintendo gamers altogether.

People generally don't factor in third party games unless they're significant or exclusive. Like, we're talking about Scribblenauts, FIFA, NBA 2K, Madden, Just Dance, Black Ops 2, Epic Mickey 2, Batman Arkham City. Were you really gonna be playing these on Wii U and were they going to sell you on the console? Probably not.

I own and have played multiple of those on Wii U. Scribblenauts is a particularly weird choice, given that while it was on PC as well, Wii U was the only console it was on, and other than a mobile game the series had been Nintendo exclusive up to that point.
