If you want everything, it's:

  • $60 base game
  • $10 extra if you want it on Switch 2
  • $30 DLC
  • $20 extra if you want the Kalos starter Mega Evos, which are locked behind NSO

Not including tax on top of that. Fucking ludicrous.

Sorry but this is a problem for any game.

FTFY. Non-Nintendo games go on sale sometimes.

Unprecedented for a Pokemon game as far as I know.

wait what
Before I clicked this topic I assumed you meant the price some of OG GameBoy titles go for these days.

I know they're in naturally high demand, but I feel like "collectors" that treat the whole thing like an investment scheme are to blame. With how Pokemon exploded in the 90's there is no way those games arn't actually more common than dirt.

Sounds like the game is $60.
Ghosts are cool.

just get Palworld. way cheaper and more fun!
Apparently, not only do you need NSO to get the mega stones for the kalos starters, they are rewards for timed pvp battle events. So you have to actually beat other players who are much better than you and rank up in an online ladder to get them, and only Greninja is available at launch. The others come in later seasonal content.

What the actual fuck.

That's the way it goes with a lot of collectibles. Even things that were sold in massive amounts get lost, damaged, discarded, and when they become desirable again, demand outstrips supply. People see they are worth money and think, 'fuck, no. I'm not selling for less than stupid money'.

Hell, I'm not selling mine, so blame me too I guess.

They require PVP online play. To what extent/how many matches, we'll find out.

I didn't buy NSO for Pokemon though.
Less is more. Everything you want, isn't everything you need.
Don't forget, any pokemon you catch in this game you cannot send to any other switch game currently avaliable nor can any pokemon you caught there be sent to this game and not make it a return trip.

Like you catch a Magikarp in ZA you can't put it Let's Go, Sword/Shield,Arcerus or Scarlet/Violet it can only be used in ZA and the future Champions game.
A worthless existence

I don't know why people care about this. You can start playing Pokemon Scarlet and within the first 30 minutes of the game you can catch pretty much any Pokemon you want, you just need to run to wherever its location is.

They're treating the game as a new generation and until Scarlet/Violet happened it was never possible to trade/move up and down a generation simultaneously. So it's a loss of feature for sure but it's been like that for multiple decades before one game.
This is a signature to draw attention away from the fact that I don't have a signature.
Pokemon was at its best when it had competition from Yokai Watch. Unfortunately without competition it will only get worse

Guys, guys, you can't blame Nintendo for this if you keep pointing out that this is something ALL games do.

To this one... if you already have NSO, its a stretch to add that to the total for Pokmon.

Don't quite get the complaints about this. ZA is the start of Gen 10 and you'll be able to move Pokemon forward, not backward. It's literally almost always been that way with new gens - the only time you could have Pokemon time travel back was Gen 2 to Gen 1 and Gen 9 to Gen 8 IIRC.
