Yes, but the bowing to fascism by media companies is way worse under Trump than it was Bush.

I compared this topic to Bush because they canceled Bill Mahr's show for making correct criticisms of America's response to 9/11. (I loathe both Mahr and Kimmel BTW before anyone tries to do some dumb gotcha.) This has happened before. Alanis Morrisette's "Ironic" was massively censored and taken off the air during the Bush years because it mentions a plane crash. The Dixie Chicks got massive blacklisted by the media for criticizing Bush.

I repeat: We have been here before. You guys just forgot how bad Bush was.

Remember the hatred got from the right for Snow White movie?

Or the don't say gay bill in Florida?

Or DEI?

Or the spat with that once racist chick in the Star wars TV show?

Yet they still managed to Cowtow cause "Line must go up"
The Bill of Rights should be for everyone... except it isnt
Good luck getting people to watch your crappy stations. Seriously, all they got going for me is sports being broadcast on the big network channel, and I can just stream that somewhere on the Internet nowadays.

Once the old folks, who are unwilling to transition to streaming and Internet, are all gone. Their audience is gonna be so small. Good luck staying afloat you greedy, fascists POS's.

Independent media isn't and won't ever go away. No matter how are hard the jackboot thugs try to shut that down. And none of the content creators depend on any rich person making decisions for them.

I am thinking that one of these comedy hosts should just run a segment that is nothing but the most controversial and vile stuff Kirk said, without any commentary.
If that gets the host fired, then the world has truly gone mad.
Sigs are rather pointless, except if it's to showcase animation and images.

Has Jimmy gotten on camera and cried about this yet?
He did nothing wrong.

They probably would get fired. IIRC, people were already getting fired for doing that on social media.

Maybe Colbert and Kimmel should try teaming up to make their own show. I'd give it a shot, though I don't know if they'd have any chemistry together.

Just don't invite Fallon if his show gets canceled next.

Coming to a news article near you: "Comedian fired for criticizing Charlie Kirk by playing videos of Charlie Kirk speeches."

Bush was fascist. They were disappearing brown people and torturing en masse on vague suspicions of terrorist plots. We have been here before.

Everyone just memory holed how bad things one during Bush man. We are so cooked when we're looking back at on Bush as "one of the good Republicans."

I highly doubt any of that is true, since Cheney was the true mastermind behind everything and his daughter was literally going around the country campaigning with Harris.

Can anyone tell me what show was replaced over his broadcast yesterday?

I use the Titan TV app, and its schedule still states new episodes of Jimmy each night.

Are you not aware of the Patriot Act abd its consequences? It's well documented recent history dude, you don't have to "doubt" anything.

Yes it was definitely a very bad idea for the Harris campaign to campaign with Cheney lol.

The former doesn't seem like it matches the latter.

The Alanis one was more of that general overcorrection from 9/11, while the second is directly cancel culture.

Like, Alanis just happened to mention a plane crash at the wrong time, the Dixie Chicks were actively attacked for speaking out. Unless I'm just not remembering the Ironic reaction correctly.

LOL. As if that bit of stupidity by the Harris campaign disproves anything about W Bush era Republicans.

IMO the media was just as subservient to Republicans back then as it is now, but Republicans back then did not test and extend the limits nearly as much as Trump does.
