I'm not sure, but I know that they released the game when they did because they knew they would just keep adding to it if they didn't, so they definitely already have DLC/sequel ideas lined up. It's just a matter of time as far as I'm concerned.
What if they do what they did with Silksong? Have so much fun making a dlc they turn it into a fully fledged game. Then we get years of radio silence and the internet's entitlement starts showing and they call Team Cherry clowns again. Then they decide, you know what, fuck those people. This project is scrapped ala Phil Fish and Fez 2.
