It's hard to believe anyone who plays video games regularly could be worse at them than DSP. I've only seen clips of him here and there. Like, from one clip I saw he doesn't seem to grasp the concept of invisible walls. He spent a lot of time trying to get through one thinking that was the way forward.

Arin just skips tutorials all the time, don't watch that channel anymore but he's not consistently awful he just doesn't pay attention

If you think those 2 are bad, I played FC 26 online yesterday and lost a game 20-1, it would have only been 19 but I intentionally scored an own goal because I was pissed off at the guy running up the score.

Arin's terribleness is at 3D games is more influential. His popular video where he complains about Ocarina of Time is mostly because he is terrible at playing the game.

Arin's actually not too bad when he locks in but he plays kinda lazy and feckless a lot of the time. I get the impression that he hams it up a little bit.

He was one of the best in a particular version of a fighting game known for exploitable combos and a low playerbase due to said exploitability. I dont know his skill outside of that particular game.

Arin's actually pretty good at games. Maybe not a pro but he does just fine. He just has some problems mixing being a performer with being a gamer. Streamers often perform worse than their real skill level to read chat. Arin's got the same problem but it's because he's making silly jokes the whole game and has to actively divide his attention to chat with Dan. He also pretty famously skips tutorials because they don't make good television and that results in him going into most games without a good understanding of what to do...

DSP couldn't figure out how to scoop balls into a hole in TotK.

Arin's fine at games. On a skill level, at least.

His problem is that he refuses point-blank to read tutorials, instructions, or in game dialogue, and thus has no idea what to do or where to go, gets mad, and blames the game for it.
Doesn't take a lot of brains to be a good fighter.

There is definitely at least some performative going on with DSP. I think it's more like, "Gets stumped for a second, starts complaining / acting bad, realizes what the correct thing to do is, continues doing it wrong on purpose and doubling down but this time for entertainment"

I've played against Arin in some fighting games, he's average. Not as good as the grinders, but not useless. He's just not serious on camera.

Its been mentioned a few times, but I think a lot of what makes Arin struggle at games, aside from skipping tutorials, is that his focus isnt 100% on the game hes playing. I know just from playing with friends, when we start having conversations that arent related to the game were playing, that all of us tend to do worse than we normally do because were paying more attention to what the others are saying than we are to the game. I suspect its much the same with Arin, as hes often cracking jokes with Dan and talking about stuff unrelated to the game theyre playing.

You can kind of make the same case for DSP and him interacting with chat, but he interacts far less with them than Arin does with Dan. Even when hes trying to focus on the game, you see him being extremely dumb and not being able to figure out simple solutions.

Dont watch either of them and Im just basing this off what little Ive seen of both, but Im guessing DSP is better at fighters while Arin is better at everything else when hes not being distracted by his conversations/joking with Dan.

People underestimate how streaming or recording really does make you worse at the game. ProZD has a gaming channel where he and a friend or two will talk bullshit and he spent over an hour on the last boss, even after he started using save states to skip phases.

At the very end, he added a little clip. He said that his friends had just left and he beat the boss in ten minutes.

Phil by a mile. Arin leans into the meme of sucking because he doesnt pay attention to instructions and makes it part of the entertainment. DSP just sucks and gets mad when people point it out.

DSP, easily. Arin isn't great at a lot of games but he'll at least own up to it sometimes, but DSP is much, much worse and actively blames everything but himself when he fucks something up. Arin is also open about having ADHD and how it makes it difficult for him to split focus between playing the game and carrying out a conversation at the same time, and apparently Dan doesn't actually like playing games at all, which is why he never picks up a controller unless it's a VS episode.

Their playthrough was what prompted me to get into the series, but I stopped watching before the first murder happened because I was already convinced at that point that I wanted to play it myself. I played through all three games (I tried Ultra Despair Girls and hated it, stopped playing pretty quickly) before going back to watch their playthroughs. Danganronpa 1 was painful to watch, 2 was actual torture, and I stopped V3 before the second murder because it was really obvious that Arin had already spoiled himself on everything that was going to happen so he could make "predictions" for the inevitable compilation video that would follow.

DSP would probably wreck most posters here in SF2 Turbo. His whole shtick is being terrible so he wisely leans into it and has been streaming for a really long time more than his detractors. So much so, theres channels based on bashing him. Hey, if your gimmick works, stick with it. I never heard of the other person but we all know DSP.

Never watched DSP, but by far the worst thing about Arin is how much he sucks at puzzles. Hell see a clue that amounts to Pucaet cigam eht dnif and therell be a teacup sitting right in front of him, and hell immediately turn away from it so he can spend 10 minutes walking in circles screaming WHAT DO I DO!!!? WHATS A PUCEAT!!!? while Dan just laughs. Its infuriating.
