A few eyebrow raising moments, but pretty good for him.

If only he wasn't a serial liar.

Thatdoesnt sound like Trump. Not just what hes saying but how hes saying it.
Wink wink oh oh wink wink
If that is real, someone obviously at least edited the text for him.

Or maybe he had a stroke and it somehow turned him into a better person.

Just his weekly flip-flop on how he feels about the war
I thought Ukraine was gonna lose because they didn't hold the cards. Who'd have thought Trump would flip flop on an issue.
8 months in, he's finally getting to know and understand the situation?

This does seem to be a largely good message (aside from knowing that, well, it's Trump and he's all over the place on this shit), just funny to see "with time, patience," etc. after the many times he boasted that he'd be ending this war within 24 hours.

There is absolutely no fucking way that statement was thought up by or typed by Trump.
This is a signature.

Telling Ukraine they were losing didn't work, so now he's telling Russia they're losing. Just throwing shit at the wall in hopes of one day being able to brag he ended it even if it has nothing to do with him.
My take (if this is actually from Trump) is that one of Trump's minders has a sane view of the Russia/Ukraine mess, and managed to get this view into Trump's empty head.

But sanity from others never lasts long with Trump. He'll revert back to the usual shit the next time he receives his orders from Putin.

For good or for bad, Trump's opinion on anything is the opinion of whoever he just talked to. I too am cautiously optimistic when he says things like this. But I think some people in his cabinet are firmly pro-Kremlin, and if they talk to him and convince him that Zelensky is the bad guy then he'll switch again. He's made fake threats to Putin numerous times now, like the infamous "Vladmir, STOP!" tweet. But they never manifest to anything. Both Putin and Netanyahu know they can jerk Trump around with meaningless words for another few months while they continue any aggressions they want.

Is this real?
If he sticks to this, okay, good. But who knows if that will happen.

I was about to ask what he was on, but this is also a valid question.

Why, it's almost as if the US president being a feeble-minded simpleton who can easily be flattered by hostile foreign leaders is the sort of thing that voters should vote against.

But no, we can't have that.

"In any event I wish both countries well"

This guy is an absolute buffoon who doesnt have even an elementary school level understanding of foreign relations.

I hate that this guy is in charge. All he knows is what benefits him personally and ego stroking. He doesn't give a shit about anyone. I'm sure Zelenskyy said a few nice words to him today which is why he wrote this, but he's too wrapped up in trying to keep everyone happy and he's friends with Putin and wouldn't want to make him upset

He's desperate for that peace prize.
As mentioned above, that doesn't read like any of his prior messages so it could be someone else wrote it for him.

About as coherent as a miss america contestant having a deer in the headlights moment when answering a question about some deep geopolitical issue they don't know anything about.

Its lacking all caps, so it certainly wasnt Trumpy Dumpy.
You gonna do somethin' or just stand there and bleed?
Trump has constantly flip flopped on this. Theres been times hes seemed more pro-Ukraine than the last administration, and other times where he seems firmly under Putins thumb.

But FWIW, it does feel like his average has been drifting more and more towards Ukraine. My guess is that hes just interested in getting a win - and hes supporting whichever side he thinks he can help get that, and increasingly thinking that wont be Russia.

On the contrary this is exactly how Russian disinformation works. Muddy the waters so much that you don't even know what's going on anymore.

I'm guessing whatever arrangement he thought he was gonna have with Russia fell through. That or he was so successfully rage baited by Putin's pretty blatant mockery of him that he's doing this out of pure spite.

That's way too coherent to have been written by him.
Evey: Is everything a joke to you, Gordon?
Gordon: Only the things that matter.
First, he very obviously didnt write this.

Second, there is no way Ukraine regains its original borders, and pretending it can will prolong the war and cost more lives in the long run. But make a nice profit for American arms dealers.
