The rise of the political ideology of aggressive regressionism disguised as a 'conservative' movement, championed by leaders and followers alike that adopt anything from dubious claims to outright proveable FUCKING LIES as their rallying calls and mantras, whilst acting like anyone who questions it or resists it as a 'lUnAtIC LEFTIST!!!'.

We can't have civil discourse about anything anymore because the Far Right want to act like their destruction of every last piece of societal progress we've made since the 50's is some quaint little matter of 'beliefs' that they're being persecuted for, even as they destroy the freedoms and rights of demographics they deem undesirable, and whilst lining even more demographics up to strip rights from.

The Internet.

I know thats dumb to say when Im on gamefaqs daily but the Internet is a small part of my life otherwise. I mostly use it killing time at work and rarely touch it outside of that. I only regularly use gamefaqs, some YouTube, and some minor shopping like Amazon/Ebay for books and movies and Etsy for some random stuff.

I hate to sound like the old man yelling at tech because overall I embrace tech and I know it is just a tool and it brings many good things and conveniences but I feel overall we have squandered that to just fucking ruin people and I dislike being out whether at the grocery store or doctors office or wherever and 99% of everyone has their faces buried in their phones. I find it just annoying. Especially when they are blocking an aisle or holding me up in line and oblivious to everything around them.

Peoples dependence on them is staggering. People get weird about it too when they find out Ive never had a cell phone and dont need one. They justify it to me why they need one and invent these scenarios where they think I have to have one. I dont.

Other than ordering my movies and downloading games/patches the Internet could go away and I would be just fine. So glad I grew up without it and got to get all the way past 18 before it became a normal thing.

I dislike how whenever anything gets changed/updated (software but also anything physical) it's like 90% chance that it gets worse and only 10% chance it gets better

Like sitting back and looking at things I'd say life's still pretty good but it's hard to be super content when you can really watch any given thing get worse in real-time

It must have been a similar climate during the civil war. People so divided politically they were itching to kill each other.
