Is this is true we now know the percent that makes mega corpos start sweating bullets: around 1.5% of the customer base taking action and taking their money out the door.

They have an estimated 127 million subscribers globally.

Put another way only 1 in about 95 people needed to actually do something to effect immediate and panicked change.

Keep that in mind going forward everybody.
Currently Playing: Xenoblade X Definitive Edition (Switch), Fate/stay night Remastered (Switch), Arknights (Android)
That's like half a billion a year in revenue.

And watch the vast majority of them resub. Didney will be fine, this won't hurt them in the slightest

I'm sure a lot of them were people who forgot they even had a Disney sub lol. I don't think they'll be rushing to resub, Disney plus is pretty underwhelming
One good trick deserves another, one good man betrays his brother
that reminds me I need to cancel my sub that I got last Black Friday

I was one of those 1.7 million paid subscribers that cancelled my Disney Plus account. They got what they deserved

If they resub after Disney did what they wanted they didn't lose though. Like this is precisely why Disney capitulated, to stop losing subs and gain some back. This is the process actually working as those who cancelled their subscription intended.

Interesting that it only took losing 1.7 million to get them to do a 180.
How many millions have you made off of AI? Have you even made enough to quit your job? It's not meant to make you rich, but to make the billionaires richer.
I'm sure the protests and bad press in general were also a catalyst for the quick turnaround. The Avenger's cast was vocal about the bullshit and Marvel's their cash cow so they had a lot to lose by kneeling before Trump permanently.

On a positive note, this should have sent a strong message to every big corporation. The American people and the rest of the world are getting fed up with this fascist regime and they're not afraid to take action. Corps need to choose the side that will generate the most revenue since that's all they're in it for.

I wonder what the blowback of Google will be now that they paid $24 million to Trump?

In a capitalist society, money and life are one and the same.
lol.

Netflix has like triple that, and Disney's easy to protest because they're primarily a content business. It's the Amazons and Microsofts that are harder to put down because their tentacles are in everything.

Not even my kids like Disney+. They would rather just play Roblox or watch streamers.

Now that I'm done watching Andor I have nothing of interest to watch anyway.
Disney Plus is a good service but it needs more content that's not Star Wars or MCU crap.

Disney Plus can be great, depending on your region. I wish it was available here.
Are we sure its not because of the email that was sent out about the price increase coming in October?

Isnt that a good thing though? The whole purpose of a boycott is to force a company to change. In this case, Disney did what the boycotters asked. If people dont resub after the company folds, then in the future the company has no incentive to meet the boycotts demands.

The difference between fiction and reality is that fiction has to make sense.

Pretty sure I got that after the Kimmel drama. I'm fact I wouldn't be surprised if that were to compensate for people dropping out

Don't think they did a 180. It was ABC that took action and Disney had to come in and override them. There was also Nexstar and Sinclair.

Btw Disney owns Hulu (and ABC, and FX) as well so anything on those networks should be included as part of the boycott

Fair point. I guess i feel when a boycott is called, theres usually a lot of vitriolic hate being spewed out that the people calling for it want it to be a lifelong boycott.

I think thats mainly from too much internet and hyperbole.

Also add in the fact people hate megacorps and seemingly want them all to fail, so why would they go crawling back?
