I dont run any adblockers. The only thing I get is the very initial ads where I get a 5 second clip and a 2nd one that I can skip after 5 seconds. So I have 10 seconds of ads and then I can watch the entire 20 minute video and skip to any portion with no ad.

I dont know I guess Im just wired differently. I watch a fair amount of YouTube at work and I really dont mind the initial 5 or 10 seconds and then being able to watch an entire video. People make this big deal about ads and its just not much of an issue for me.

Now one time someone posted a video and it had all these yellow markers in it that would go to an ad every 5 minutes but I was under the impression that was set by the creator. I dont watch stuff like that. The stuff I watch has no ad breaks. Just the initial few seconds and then you can skip. I dont care about that.

Alright I watched part of it. Basically there's a browser extension that lets users mark sections of YouTube videos that include sponsored ads, and then it skips those sections for other users of the extension. Like when you're watching a new phone review, but they spend like 40 seconds thanking Raid Shadow Legends for sponsoring the video. Which is something ad blockers don't block, since it's part of the video itself.

And so, the guy in the video is annoyed by that potentially skipping content he worked on and decided to make a video where he constantly brings up nordvpn to test how much of his video gets skipped by that extension.

its such a weird thing to get upset about other people blocking ads :/ I havent watched this guys videos from memory but theres a very short list of people who make entertaining adds internet historian is one, castle super beast podcast is (rarely) another. People just dont want their time wasted with ads, thats a very normal thing
