Yeah lol, I'm 5'7 at 250lb. Right now I bench 265 for 8 reps.
I can maybe do 315 for barely 1 rep but I've never tried.
But damn, 400lb bench press. That's like a fraction of 1% that can lift that. It's basically elite level at that point.
It was seriously mind boggling. He was big into working out but at 16 that was just nuts. He was so disappointed back then though because he had a flat chest. No visible pecs at all and it bothered him that people who were so much weaker had nice developed chests. He had big ass biceps but no chest. He always covered his arms though. He honestly didnt do it for vanity, but it bothered him he couldnt see the results physically in his chest.
But we were dumb teenagers then and thought being big and buff was cool. These days hes slimmed way down, has no mass, and is very lean. He is still super strong and fit but hes 510 and like 170. Hell in high school our last two years he was wrestling 189 pounds so hes like 20 pounds lighter than when we were 17 and we are 49 now.
I know online everyone seems to know a guy but its 100% truth. He's the strongest person Ive ever personally known as a close friend. Dude was so strong. I remember when we watched the NFL combine and he was surprised at how low their reps were for 225 and he could do more. He could do like 33 reps of 225 as a teenager in high school. It didnt make sense to me. I couldnt hit 225 when I started and had to work up to that.
